Chapter 30: The Divine Might Black Thunder Spear

Stepping through the dark doorway, Mo Yu found himself in a dimly lit hall. Soft light emanated from fire orbs embedded in the walls, casting a gentle glow that made the spacious pavilion feel deep and tranquil.

Upon entering the pavilion, several wide corridors came into view. At the entrance of each corridor, large characters representing various elemental attributes were displayed. Since Mo Yu had a lightning attribute while Xiao Yan and Xun'er had fire attributes, Mo Yu parted ways with the two of them after entering the pavilion.

As he walked down the lightning path, Mo Yu encountered five smaller corridors, each with several clan members already inside. He could faintly see their figures through the pathways.

"Second path on the right," Mo Yu muttered to himself, recalling the instructions. He headed straight for the second corridor.

The passage was different from the main hall. On both sides, every few meters, there were thick, silver-white wooden doors. All the doors were already open, revealing faint silver screens shimmering within the doorways.

These silver screens served as a defensive barrier, and breaking through them was the final test for the young clan members who sought to claim the techniques inside.

As Mo Yu walked down the corridor, he noticed several clan members, their faces flushed, punching and kicking the silver screens in front of the doors. Occasionally, a screen would shatter with a burst of excitement, accompanied by cheers. Each time this happened, the others nearby would look on with envy.

After walking a bit further, Mo Yu spotted the number "31" on one of the doors.

"This must be the one," Mo Yu said with a smile as he came to a stop in front of the door. Although he didn't particularly care about the preferential treatment from Clan Leader Xiao Zhan, he figured it wouldn't hurt to take a look.

As Mo Yu stood before Room 31, several clan members nearby paused in their efforts, their expressions turning curious. Room 31 had the most formidable defense on this path. Several strong clan members had attempted to breach the barrier earlier, only to fail. However, remembering that Mo Yu was now a Dou Practitioner, they quickly understood why he might succeed.

Ignoring the curious glances, Mo Yu calmly placed his hand on the screen.

He slightly adjusted his stance, spreading his feet apart, clenching his fists, and closing his eyes. He began to circulate his Dou Qi rapidly through specific meridians in his body.

"Break!"

Mo Yu's eyes suddenly snapped open. Five of the lightning patterns on his right arm glowed as he punched the silver screen with a sharp, whistling sound.

"Thunder Strong Body!"

With a low shout, Mo Yu's fist smashed into the screen. Ripples spread out from the point of impact like waves on water, and in the next instant, the silver screen shattered like glass, drawing shocked gasps from the onlookers.

Breaking the barrier with ease, Mo Yu remained composed, his expression unchanged. To the other clan members, this display only deepened their respect and fear of him.

With the screen shattered, Mo Yu could now enter the room.

Inside, the lighting was slightly brighter, revealing a small chamber. In the center of the room, on a black, ancient stone platform, rested a silver-white scroll.

Mo Yu walked over, picked up the scroll, and glanced at the inscription on the back.

"Yellow Tier High-Level Technique: Thunder Clap Art," he read softly.

"This is probably the highest-level lightning technique in the clan," Mo Yu thought. He couldn't help but shake his head at Xiao Zhan's well-intentioned gesture. However, a Yellow Tier technique was of little use to him.

Tucking the scroll into his robe, Mo Yu prepared to leave when something on the stone platform caught his eye.

"Is this... Black Thunder Stone?"

Black Thunder Stone was an extremely rare material for crafting weapons. Not only was it incredibly tough, but it also had excellent conductivity, making it ideal for weapons used by those who practiced lightning techniques.

As the idea formed in his mind, Mo Yu's expression shifted. A smile crept onto his face.

Currently, he had the Thunder Strong Body technique and the Dragon Swimming Nine Flashes for movement. What he lacked was a powerful combat technique. With his recent strength gains, Mo Yu had been contemplating leaving Wu Tan City to explore the outside world. Venturing into the unknown required thorough preparation, and he had been searching for a suitable weapon.

Unfortunately, Wu Tan City was too remote to find the rare materials he sought. However, this Black Thunder Stone could be just what he needed.

The Divine Might Black Thunder Spear!

On the Dou Qi Continent, alchemists ranked cauldrons into nine tiers, with the highest quality cauldrons listed on the Celestial Cauldron Ranking. When converted to the Dou Qi Continent's standards, the Divine Might Black Thunder Spear was of a fairly modest quality, likely around Tier 4.

But even at Tier 4, Mo Yu wasn't disappointed. He had a special connection to the Divine Might Black Thunder Spear. In his past life, it was with this spear and its corresponding techniques that he began his rise to power, becoming a formidable force on the continent. Unfortunately, as his power grew, the spear eventually shattered in a fierce battle. Losing it had been a great regret for him.

The primary material for crafting the Divine Might Black Thunder Spear was this very Black Thunder Stone.

"Fate works in mysterious ways," Mo Yu mused, running his hand over the cool, ancient stone platform. He had come to the pavilion just to go through the motions, and now he had stumbled upon something truly valuable.

That the Xiao family possessed such an item didn't surprise Mo Yu. After all, they were once one of the eight ancient clans and had some deep heritage. But with the family's decline, this artifact had been overlooked, perhaps recognized as special but never used properly. To refine the Black Thunder Stone into a weapon required at least a Tier 4 blacksmith, someone far beyond the current capabilities of the Xiao family.

With these thoughts in mind, Mo Yu unceremoniously stored the Black Thunder Stone in his storage ring. Leaving it here would mean it remained a simple stone platform for another hundred years. By taking it with him, its true value could finally be realized.

As for the Xiao family, Mo Yu figured he could repay them in the future.

Although the Dou Qi Pavilion was guarded by many hidden experts, they were mainly focused on preventing external threats. Plus, Mo Yu's soul strength was not to be underestimated, so taking the Black Thunder Stone was effortless for him.
