Yan Xia entered the 169th floor.
The place was completely different from the first floor.
It was too clean!
If the first floor was already spotless, then the 169th floor was even more so.
The safety, hygiene, and other aspects of the biological laboratory were obviously several levels higher than those of a regular laboratory, because any substance that leaked out from here could cause the destruction of an entire star system.
When Yan Xia came up, Ella was already waiting for him in front of the elevator.
The elevator connecting the first and 169th floors had no external shaft; it was a magnetic levitation system that directly lifted the entire elevator to the 169th floor.
"You didn't have to rush up here so quickly. I saw you chatting happily with that girl downstairs."
Ella knew everything that had happened to Yan Xia earlier.
Her tone was calm, but she knew why it seemed to carry a different meaning.
"It's done, so there's no reason to stay."
Ella and Yan Xia walked towards the designated laboratory.
All the researchers on the 169th floor wore organic armour that covered their entire bodies. Yan Xia asked, "Do I need to wear the armour too"?
Ella didn't turn around; she just gave a heavy "mm-hmm" in response.
"..."
Yan Xia quickly activated his cellular armour to solidify the surface of his body. It felt strange, like putting on a piece of clothing.
Even though it only covered his torso, it felt like he was fully dressed. All his pores, mouth, nose, and ears were sealed, and his eyes seemed to be covered with a thin membrane. He could see clearly, but there was a foreign sensation reminding him that there was something on his eyes.
"Although this isn't the Federation's strongest biological research institute, the safety level here is undoubtedly one of the highest in the Federation."
"This institute houses many restricted and taboo-level biological weapons."
Ella introduced the place to Yan Xia.
At that moment, they were passing through a corridor with paintings hanging on both sides. If ordinary people were to see these paintings, they would probably be scared out of their wits, as they depicted various organs in intricate detail.
"Do you think these things are too realistic?"
"Because they are real."
Yan Xia was startled by this revelation, as these paintings were not simple.
"Is that a zombie virus? Is it real too?"
On the other side was a painting of a large, viscous structure that looked more like a cross-section. It was enormous, almost 10 meters in diameter.
"Of course," Ella nodded.
The zombie virus was inspired by 21st-century zombie movies. Yan Xia himself had created this virus, which was extremely aggressive towards human, Kate, and Hundred-Eyed tribes. It could invade the bodies of these three tribes upon contact and quickly take control of their brains.
Like the zombie virus in the movies, these viruses had a high degree of mutation. After controlling the brains of the infected, they would steal their thinking abilities while enhancing their physical abilities.
In other words, individuals infected with this zombie virus would become tyrants with human intelligence.
Of course, when Yan Xia was researching, he wouldn't create something as trivial as a tyrant. As a biological weapon, he would create viruses that could easily be destroyed by a small pistol.
These viruses had strong vitality. Even if their hosts were torn into five pieces, as long as there was more than one kilogram of residual biological tissue, they could regenerate with sufficient nutrition. Even without nutrition, they could obtain nutrients through photosynthesis.
The zombie virus was somewhat playful in the beginning. After the spread of quark robots, this virus caused the most common cold.
Nowadays, most viruses can directly destroy quark robots or their internal mechanical structures. Even wearing armour doesn't guarantee safety; more protection comes from the facilities within the research institute.
"This is the place," Ella said as she opened a door.
Yan Xia noticed a string of numbers above the door, with a small circle at the end of the number. Inside the circle was a small 'v', which was not a VIP research room symbol. This symbol was usually found in the highest-level research rooms.
As expected, when Yan Xia and Ella entered the room, they saw not a laboratory but a 30-meter-long corridor. Several gases were sprayed onto their bodies, and after waiting for 10 minutes in this environment, the door at the end of the corridor opened.
Then they entered another corridor, where countless nanorobots climbed onto their bodies, cleaning all the dirt and bacteria inside and outside their bodies.
When these nanorobots left, Yan Xia felt his skin become much smoother.
Only then did they enter the interior of the research room.
The research room didn't seem big, but when Ella snapped her fingers, a wall suddenly opened, revealing a glass panel. On the other side of the glass was an incredibly complex machine, resembling a CNC machine.
"You'll be doing the gene modification yourself, Yan Xia. You can go in."
Ella allowed Yan Xia to approach the glass, and as he took a step forward, he found himself passing through the glass as if it were a layer of water.
"Deactivate your armour and lie down."
"I'll gradually replace all your genes. You won't feel anything during this process because..."
Yan Xia lay on a cold metal bed, and before Ella finished speaking, his eyelids grew heavy.
He wouldn't feel any pain because he wouldn't have any consciousness during the process.
After seeing Yan Xia fall into a deep sleep, Ella began to operate the precision biological equipment in front of her, which utilised the Federation's most advanced technology. This equipment, occupying only one room, had a price tag of nearly 30 million energy coins.
The reason for its high cost was that it could perform microsurgery on the nucleus of an atom. Its precision was incredibly high, and tasks like replacing all genes were like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
If it weren't for Yan Xia, Ella wouldn't have brought anyone here. She would have sent them to a hospital in a star city. Gene replacement was a high-end technology in small clinics, but it had become commonplace in large hospitals.
Of course, there was another reason Ella didn't mention.
The ultimate state of radiation genes was naturally based on human genes, but it was a sequence gene.
Ella was going to give Yan Xia the Federation's strongest gene sequence.
This sequence had a name: The Supreme God.
