Capítulo 38: Chapter 37 William

As the armour closed around him with a resounding click, Obadiah felt the cold embrace of metal pressing against his skin.

His vision narrowed, constrained by two peepholes that barely allowed him to glimpse the world outside

The clicks of the locks resounded through metal every time one of the scientist shut the lock.

*bang*

*bang*

*bang*

*bang*

*bang*

"It's locked up" Obadiah heard William say.

"So now what" William asked glancing at the large suit with a little curiously.

"Activate" Obadiah's voice resounded from within the metal tin can of the armour but it didn't reach the ears of William and the others for some odd reason.

Obadiah waited for a few seconds, and found it odd that the inside of the armour was turning red.

It's part of the process, Obadiah thought to himself.

His skin brushing against it, he felt the heat sear his skin.

He jerked his hand back instinctively, but the heat followed, radiating with an intense ferocity.

His heart raced as he stared at the crimson glow spreading like wildfire, consuming every inch of the suit's interior.

Panic set in as his screams echoed unheard, drowned by the suffocating metal cocoon.

"HELP!" He shouted as his body thrashed around trying to get out of the armour but the voice barely reached the ears of the others.

"What happened?" William asked a little confused glancing at the others.

"GET ME OUT OF HERE!" Obadiah shouted as his whole body rubbed against the burning metal.

Since he had no where to run.

His skin melting and merging with the suit.

His eyes wide as he screamed, feeling the sensation of his whole skin being melted off.

He looked at the scientists in front of him, pleading with his screams and the desperation filling his eyes, yet it seemed like they couldn't see the pain he was going through.

It was an unbearable amount of torture.

Yet William and the others had a completely different look on everything that was happening.

Had Obadiah gone crazy? William thought to himself, Shutting himself within a metal suit and refusing to answer, it made no sense.

Obadiah was looking at them yet it was hard to tell the look in his eyes as a red visor covered his eyes.

At the same time a red crimson ball small as a penny appeared at the empty core of the Armour.

And the heat within the armour stopped for Obadiah.

"What... is that?" William questioned as he adjusted his glasses and stepped closer.

The red crimson ball began expanding larger and larger as time passed.

William and the rest had stepped a little back at this point when it started to grow.

"Sir what is that" One of the scientists asked William whose eyes were glued to the pulsating orb.

"I don't know, but I think we should leave" William said as he began stepping back a little, very slowly.

He didn't understand why, but whatever that red orb was, it was not good news for them.

"Run" William said as he began taking off, running through the large Underground, he ran trying to reach the elevator and get out of here.

The others only a few seconds slower to react.

Unfortunately, those four seconds cost them everything.

William suddenly heard heavy metal thumps behind him following lots of guttural screaming, and the eerie sounds of ripping.

"You think you can run!" A metallic voice filled with reverb sounded shouted.

William didn't stop to look back at voice, he was too scared of what he might see.

He just ran, steps away from the lift, he practically hoped and pressed the switch for the lift.

The Gates sliding open, William rushed in.

Looking at floor button panel, William quickly started mashing the higher floor buttons and spamming the door close button.

As the sound of heavy metallic footsteps approached closer.

The door began shutting, as it was about to completely shut a hand shot through the little space in the middle, stopping the door from shutting.

*Bang* it resounded as the door hit the relatively large metal hand.

"No.." William softly murmured as he watched the door open to the large Iron suit, the red orb in its chest pulsating, and the eyes of the Armour crimson red.

"Do you think you can run away" Obadiah asked in his weird voice.

"Let me go Obadiah" William said as he steeped back, hitting the back of the lift.

"Why?" Obadiah tilted his robot head a little and asked.

"Be.. because if I don't come out alive out of this elevator... then everyone will know what you had been trying to do and your intentions for The Stark enterprises, it will all be exposed" William said, sweat filling his forehead.

William with his whole body shivering, as he reached his hand into his pocket and grabbed a stick with a button on it and pressed it.

A little blue light switched on blinking.

"Makes sense" Obadiah said catching William off guard.

His red glowing eyes peering into Williams eyes as he backed away ever so slightly enough for the doors of the lift to close.

William's breaths were ragged, each one a desperate attempt to calm the storm raging in his chest.

He clung to the blinking blue light rod in his hand, his lifeline, the only thing keept his fragile hope of living alive. You were prepared for this, he reminded himself.

Reaching out, he quickly pressed the doors to shut.

Relief washing over him as the door had pretty much shut.

He took out the stick as he glanced at the blinking blue light, signalling that it had been activated.

Before he could react, a metallic fist tore through the closing doors with a deafening crash.

Pain shot through William's chest as the metal fist impaled him, his scream cut short as the light in his eyes dimmed.

The fist had punched through Williams body.

The life in Williams eyes instantly disappeared.

His body going limp.
