White dew warmed the air, and the plain moon flowed through the sky.
Wyatt Hale looked up at the moon, only daring to glance at his elder brother from the corner of his eye. His brother was looking down, seemingly lost in thought, with an uncontrollable smile on his lips.
Yet Wyatt felt a chill running down his back.
"Brother…" Wyatt tentatively began, "I still have some homework to do."
"Homework?"
"The teacher assigned a short paper, can I go back to my room?" Wyatt started to make up an excuse, "You don't know, that teacher is incredibly strict."
William nodded.
Getting his brother's approval, Wyatt felt overjoyed.
Keeping a calm exterior, he put on an act and added, "I'd love to stay and enjoy the moon with you, but the teacher is really pressing."
"What did you just hear?" William tilted his head and looked at him, his gaze piercing and making Wyatt's scalp tingle.
"I didn't hear anything."
"Really?" William eyed him skeptically.
