Capítulo 30: Chapter 30

Sebastian Shaw had never before encountered someone with dual abilities, especially not in a combination where they didn't restrict each other. Emma's telepathy and her ability of turning her body into one of diamonds coexisted perfectly, making her incredibly impressive.

Sebastian smiled and addressed the group, "Welcome to the Hellfire Club. We are always in need of new blood. Perhaps one day, one of you will become the White King or White Queen of the club."

The Red Devil was shocked. Was the Black Emperor really this optimistic about these two? Although Shaw didn't explicitly mention names, it was clear to everyone that he was referring to Scott and Emma. The other mutants who had joined Hellfire alongside them couldn't hide the complicated emotions on their faces.

Emma stepped forward, her voice filled with urgency, "Sir, did you see my sister when you returned?"

This was her primary reason for staying.

Shaw frowned. "Your sister?"

"Her name is Kara," Emma explained, her worry evident.

Shaw shook his head. "No, when we returned, it was just Azazel and me." He looked over at the Red Devil for confirmation, and Azazel nodded in agreement.

"Can you take me back there to search for her?" Emma asked, her desperation growing.

This was the real reason she had demonstrated her powers. Shaw hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Alright."

With a snap of his fingers, Azazel approached Emma, bent down slightly, and extended his hand. Emma grasped his crimson hand, and in the blink of an eye, they vanished.

Moments later, Emma reappeared in the Hellfire Club, her expression even more solemn. The rescued mutants had already been taken care of, and the hall was empty save for the Black Emperor.

Using her telepathy, Emma could sense her sister's power if she was within range, but there was nothing—Kara was no longer on the island. A terrifying thought crept into Emma's mind, one she didn't want to accept.

"Emma," Shaw called out softly, pulling her from her dark thoughts.

She turned to him, her eyes full of fear and confusion.

The Black Emperor stepped forward, pulling her into a gentle embrace. "Don't worry. From now on, the Hellfire Club will help you find your sister."

Emma's eyes widened in surprise. "What do I need to do?"

"Become the White Queen of the Hellfire Club."

"I will try my best," Emma replied, her voice firm.

"Clark, you're amazing!"

Raven bent down and playfully pinched Clark's cheek, handing him a panda doll. Clark grinned widely, hugging the stuffed animal tightly, and waved at the carnival stall owner. "Goodbye, Uncle!"

The stall owner could only smile through his teeth, though inside, he was screaming. The kid had hit every dart with pinpoint accuracy, and every balloon that burst felt like a punch to his gut. He had planned to keep that panda doll for his daughter, but now it was gone.

Ignoring the stall owner's distress, Raven took Clark by the hand and led him towards the amusement park's roller coaster. But when they reached the entrance, the staff turned them away—Clark was too young for the ride.

Clark sighed, glancing at the roller coaster speeding by. "It doesn't look that fun anyway," he muttered.

Raven chuckled and ruffled his hair. "How about some ice cream instead?"

"Thank you, Auntie," Clark said brightly.

Raven raised an eyebrow. "Just call me Raven."

"Sure, Auntie!"

Raven's eye twitched. Brat! He's just like his dad!

Grinding her teeth audibly, Raven was interrupted by Clark's innocent voice. "Aunt Raven, are you a mouse?"

"What?"

"Dad said mice make that sound when they grind their teeth."

Raven's face darkened as her mouth twitched uncontrollably. Clark, oblivious to this, continued, "There's an old man in my town who twitches like that. My dad said he had a stroke. Auntie, should we go to the doctor?"

Raven pressed a palm against her forehead, struggling to keep calm. "Do you want ice cream or not?"

Raven couldn't help but imagine Clark's father, Mike, turning into a mouse and having a stroke. The absurd image made her stifle with laughter. Clark looked up, confused by her sudden outburst.

A few minutes later, Clark was happily licking his ice cream, his worries about Raven long forgotten. They sat down on a bench, Raven watching him quietly. Her gaze softened as she took in the sight of him enjoying the treat. In that moment, she began to understand Mike a little better. For Clark's sake, maybe changing her lifestyle wasn't such a bad idea.

"Auntie," Clark suddenly said, holding up his ice cream toward her.

Raven blinked in surprise. In the golden light of the setting sun, Clark's innocent smile and wide blue eyes seemed to glow. In that moment, he embodied all that was pure and good in the world.

"Auntie, it's really sweet!" he repeated, offering the ice cream again.

Raven leaned in and took a small bite. Clark grinned widely. "See? It's sweet, right?"

Raven had seen so much darkness in the world that she had grown numb to it. Yet something in that simple moment, in that small act of kindness, warmed her heart in a way she hadn't felt in a long time. She felt her eyes sting as tears threatened to form.

Embarrassed by her own reaction, Raven stood up quickly, avoiding Clark's gaze. "Wait here for me, okay? I need to use the bathroom," she said, pointing toward the restroom nearby.

Clark nodded, and Raven hurried off, practically fleeing to avoid the emotion bubbling inside her. Clark watched her go, shaking his head like he had seen Mike do before. "Women," he muttered to himself.

Unbeknownst to them, someone had been watching from a distance. A figure stepped out from the shadows, their eyes fixed on Clark as they made their way toward him.

"Hey there, little guy!" A clown with a green wig, red nose, and painted face bounded up to Clark, performing a few silly tricks. Clark giggled at the clown's antics and accepted the balloon the clown offered him.

"Thank you," Clark said politely.

The clown exaggerated his joy, covering his face dramatically. "Oh, I'm so happy I could cry! How about I take you to get some candy as a thank-you?"

Clark wrinkled his nose. "No, thanks."

The clown blinked in surprise. He hadn't expected the boy to reject him so easily. He licked his lips, a sinister grin forming as he reached out toward Clark. "Come on, kid. Let's go get that candy," he said, his voice taking on a more threatening tone.
