"It's opening."

Nira stands beside me, her gaze fixed on the rift expanding before our eyes.

Tension crackles in the air, my pack behind me.

We're on the precipice of change.

I reach out through the pack bond, my thoughts cascading through the minds of every wolf present.

Be ready. We don't know what awaits us on the other side.

The rift grows, its edges shimmering as if beaten down with heat. The very air makes skin prickle and my tattoos writhe.

The tear in our reality widens, revealing glimpses of a world beyond our own.

Darkness greets us first, a night sky unlike any we've known. Pinpricks of light dot the expanse, but they're not stars. As the rift expands further, structures come into view. Towering monoliths of glass and steel in an alien landscape.

I can see trees.

This is not a dead land.

It is a place of abundance.
