Capítulo 7: Portals and Promises

At 10 PM, after a refreshing shower, Kaito opened his laptop and navigated to the Webnovel website. He eagerly checked for any updates to his web novel and was thrilled to see that his collection count had risen to 76.

"Yeah, my collection is up from 18! And someone gave me 2 stones!" Kaito exclaimed happily, a wide grin spreading across his face.

He stretched his body, feeling the day's fatigue. "I hope people keep giving me stones after reading my web novel every day," he mused, satisfaction evident in his voice.

Despite his drowsiness, Kaito still wanted to read a novel. He searched for one in the infinite harem genre and chose "Primordial Antagonist with a Slave Harem" to read. After about 15 minutes, he came across an intriguing passage:

Doctor Arcane, with his eyes aglow like twin celestial orbs, cast his formidable gaze upon the legions of Kaelith Morgul's harem. Each glance from those mystic eyes peeled away layers of space and time, revealing truths hidden from mortal perception. And in that fleeting instant of cosmic insight, he discerned but a mere fraction of the total—an awe-inspiring 8,888 decillion souls, each bound by intricate ties of enchantment and destiny. This discovery, as monumental as it was, hinted at the unfathomable depth and boundless expanse of Kaelith Morgul's dominion, a testament to the sorcerer's unmatched prowess and the endless saga of his dominion.

A knock on the door interrupted his reading. Kaito looked up, slightly annoyed at the interruption, but got up to open the door. To his surprise, he found 50 beautiful girlfriends standing there.

"What are you doing?" Hana asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"Reading some web novel," Kaito replied with a casual shrug.

"I need to get out early tomorrow, let's go to bed," Aimi said, her tone gentle but firm.

"Let's go," Kaito agreed, leading them inside his bedroom.

As they all entered, Kaito glanced at an imaginary audience. "I know what you're thinking. Just like before, you think it's not logical. Before, it was 20 girlfriends in my bedroom, now suddenly 50 girlfriends come out of nowhere. Don't take it seriously, it's just fiction."

He smirked, enjoying the absurdity of the situation. "If you're curious about the size of my bedroom, just imagine it as vast as your dreams can reach."

"Who are you talking to?" Aurora asked, tilting her head in confusion.

"Ah, nothing," Kaito replied, waving off her question.

"Come on honey, we're all ready," Abigail called out, her voice filled with warmth.

Kaito then went inside the bedroom with a big laugh, feeling a mix of amusement and contentment.

Kaito opened his eyes to see towering shelves made of enchanted wood stretching endlessly. The air was filled with the faint scent of old parchment and a soft, magical hum. He recognized this place—the inner world of a LitRPG novel with the infinite harem system.

"I was with my girlfriends a moment ago," he muttered, confusion clouding his thoughts.

"Kaito Liu," a voice called out.

Kaito looked up and saw the Book Witch floating down towards him, holding a novel. Her presence was both commanding and mysterious.

"You can float?" he asked, astonished.

"Yes, and so can you in this world," she replied, her voice calm and reassuring.

She stepped onto the ground, her elegant, form-fitting robes shimmering with intricate, magical patterns. A corset added a touch of sophistication, while delicate jewelry hinted at her arcane prowess. Her hair, styled in an elaborate updo with a hint of sparkle, completed her captivating and mysterious allure. Large, heart-shaped sunglasses added a quirky, enchanting touch to her mystique.

"Why am I here?" Kaito asked, his curiosity piqued.

The Book Witch smiled. "Did you use the system I gave you?"

"Yes, but it's different from when I first got it," Kaito replied, frowning slightly.

"What you saw initially is the final version. Once you reach a high level, you will get it. Don't worry, you'll get there someday," she assured him.

The Book Witch handed Kaito the novel she was holding. "What is this?" he asked, examining the book.

"This is why you're here. I want you to get familiar with this place," she explained.

"So, what's with this novel?" Kaito inquired, looking at the title, "I Have Infinite Nymphs."

"This is the novel you chose when you fought goblins," the Book Witch said.

"So, what do you want me to do with it?" Kaito asked, still puzzled.

"Just like this place, the novel you hold also has an inner world," she revealed.

Kaito was shocked. "You mean I can go inside this book and meet the nymphs I summoned before?"

"Yes, and you can also meet infinite nymphs inside it," she confirmed.

Kaito's face lit up with happiness. "How do I enter it?"

The Book Witch smirked. "Just like in the video game, you need to level up to a certain level to unlock this ability."

Kaito frowned. "What level do I need to reach?"

"At least level 15," she replied.

"Damn, you give me hope by giving me this novel," Kaito said, feeling a mix of frustration and excitement.

The Book Witch chuckled. "Now, let me tell you something you don't know about your leveling system."

"Something about my leveling system that I don't know?" Kaito asked, intrigued.

"Yes, your leveling system is actually different from everyone else's," she began.

"What do you mean?" Kaito asked, leaning in closer.

"Most adventurers gain experience by killing monsters, but you don't," she explained.

"What? Tell me!" Kaito asked, his curiosity growing.

"You gain experience by completing quests," she revealed.

Kaito was shocked. "That's why my level is stuck at 4. I thought killing a lot of monsters would level me up."

Suddenly, Kaito's head felt dizzy. "What's happening?" he asked, his vision blurring.

"Your level is still low. Once you reach a higher level, you can stay here longer. We'll meet again, Kaito Liu," the Book Witch said, her voice fading as Kaito lost consciousness.

Neo-Tokyo City, 1 AM. The neon lights of the bustling city shone through the windows of a small, vibrant restaurant. The air was filled with the hum of conversation and the clinking of dishes. Excited whispers could be heard from the patrons, all eyes on Haruto, the Silver Blade.

Haruto, an 18-year-old adventurer, walked into the restaurant, clad in silver armor like a knight. His long silver sword attracted everyone's attention.

"Is that Haruto, The Silver Blade?" one patron whispered.

"Yes, one of the best rookie adventurers today," another replied.

"Is he from the Leatherback Sea Turtle Guild?" someone asked.

"Yes, the same guild as Level 300 Sir Sam Stormblade," came the excited response.

"Wow, being in the same guild as Sir Sam Stormblade must be amazing," another patron marveled.

Haruto sighed, murmuring to himself, "Another late night, another emergency quest…"

The Chef approached, looking apologetic. "Sorry for bothering you at this hour, Haruto."

Haruto looked up, his expression softening. "Don't worry about it. What's the situation?"

"Well, it's a bit unusual… a blue portal has appeared in my kitchen," the Chef explained, his voice tinged with concern.

Haruto raised an eyebrow. "A portal? That doesn't sound good."

"It's not serious, I promise! But I thought it best to get an adventurer to check it out. Can you help us?" the Chef asked, hopeful.

Haruto nodded. "Alright. Lead the way."

The Chef led Haruto to the kitchen, where the bright blue portal pulsated ominously. The kitchen was filled with the aroma of spices and the clatter of pots and pans, but all activity ceased as the staff watched anxiously.

"There it is," the Chef said, pointing to the portal.

Haruto examined the portal, his eyes narrowing. "Hm… looks like it's just a level 2." He paused, taking a deep breath.

"Just a level 2? So, it's not dangerous then?" the Chef asked, wiping sweat from his forehead.

Haruto smirked. "Well, 'not dangerous' depends on your perspective. It just means low-level monsters."

"Oh, thank goodness!" the Chef exclaimed, visibly relieved.

Haruto turned serious. "Haven't faced a monster since yesterday." He grinned. "Let's find something to destroy, shall we?"

The kitchen staff nervously peeked in from the doorway, whispering amongst themselves.

"Do you think he'll be alright?" First Cook whispered.

"That's Haruto! He's the Silver Blade, after all," Second Cook replied confidently.

"You guys, stay back! Let him handle it!" the Chef ordered, trying to maintain calm.

Haruto flashed a confident smile. "Alright, wish me luck."

With a swift motion, he drew his long silver sword, its blade glinting in the kitchen's fluorescent lights. "Here we go!"

"Please don't let it be something crazy…" the Chef muttered under his breath.

Haruto entered the blue portal, his figure disappearing into the shimmering light.
