Capítulo 7: Chapter 7
I would be lying if I said it didn't take me a while to get over the lore dropped on me out of nowhere. And "a while" for a dragon is about ten years, not that I noticed. Time is weird once you pass your first 100 years.
Anyway, I got myself back on track mentally and am now flying South. Based on what I remember of Lord of the Rings, the only place I could be currently is the Northern Wastes. What I was trying to do by flying South was to figure out where in the timeline I was. How, may you ask? Easy. If Beleriand had already sunk into the sea, then that meant two things: The War of Wrath was over, and Morgoth was already dead.
Once that was verified, I could then find Númenor. If the island that had been pulled out of the sea by the Valar were still there, we would be at the beginning of the Second Age. If Númenor were not there, I would continue to Gondor to see if the Last Alliance was forming, indicating the imminent end of the Second Age and the War of the Last Alliance.
If the War of the Last Alliance had already concluded, we would be in the Third Age, the setting for the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit books and movies.
While flying, I asked myself, "What would I do once I found out when I was?" As a modern person and an apex predator since coming out of my shell, I have never had to fight to survive or struggle for a greater purpose. Yes, it is easy to delude myself into thinking that I would just do the right thing and bravely face evil with courage and dignity, but reality is not so kind. Like every person who hasn't faced adversity, I will never know how to react when the time finally comes. We wish, dream, and hope, but you never know.
I guess what they say about "with age comes wisdom" is true. I have outlived my human self more than four times over.
That's a future me problem, though.

Zhang_Kai_Rui I apologize for this being a short chapter (only 362 words), but this is the end of the information dump, and the next chapter will start with events in Middle-Earth. I am really struggling with it because I want to use third-person POVs for some of it, but I am learning as I go.
Also, someone messaged me asking why I am not updating more to get Power Stones. The answer is the same as I said at the beginning of this book: I am writing this for me and only me. If you enjoy it, then great, but every bit of this is at my discretion, and no one needs to give me anything to write it.
