Capítulo 1: Prelude: Age Of Myth

When I was a child, my father told me stories of the times when dragons still soared in the skies.

Their wings blotted out the sun, casting shadows long and terrible across the land.

Their fire, it was said, could melt the hardest steel and incinerate cities with a breath.

Though, they didn't burn us. It was not out of mercy, but because we were so far beneath for them to notice – like bugs.

Yes, we were like bugs to them, more of an irritation than a threat.

Now the dragons are gone.

Their bones are bleaching in the wastelands they once ruled.

Their ancient citadels, which they proclaimed eternal, lie in ruins, crumbling under the weight of time and hubris.

Upon those fallen stones, humanity has built its new world. Their once-glorious reign reduced to nothing more than a whisper in our songs.

The elves once claimed they were the wisest of all, the firstborn of the Gods and the holder of most ancient knowledge.

And yet, when humanity came for their forests, for their secrets, the elves fell like all the rest. The Gods they worshiped did not come to protect them.

They knelt, their shimmering cities burning, their long lives bent low in submission to our conquest.

The dwarves prided themselves on their craft.

But no forge could rival humanity's machines, no tool could stand against the god-like wonders of our technology when we waged war on them.

And the orcs and trolls?

They believed their strength was unmatched, their warbands indomitable – until they were felled like errant children, suppressed with such ease it was almost pitiful.

Even the gnomes, known for their stubborn resilience, dug deep into the earth to escape us.

But in time, they too were brought to heel, their burrows and homes turned to ash. There was no more hiding. No more running.

No more resistance.

And now, all who once stood against us are silent. They think nothing anymore. How could they? They now know what we are.

For we alone are destined to reach the stars and claim the heavens for ourselves.

We alone were made in the image of Gods.

Or rather… the Gods were made in ours.
