Dust swirled through the air, and all eyes on the battlefield shifted toward the wreckage. Ace, the executioners, and Garp were sent tumbling to the ground in a chaotic heap.
Blake wasted no time. He bolted toward Ace, electricity crackling around his legs as he enhanced his speed with Electromaster. His footsteps were barely audible over the chaos of the battle, his movements a blur to those nearby. Luffy had been knocked back, still fighting through the onslaught, but Blake wouldn't wait for him. If Luffy couldn't reach Ace, then Blake would.
Blake noticed the old man standing again as he closed in, his imposing figure blocking the path to Ace. For a moment, Blake hesitated. Garp stood unshaken despite the destruction Blake had just caused. His presence was powerful and intimidating, and Blake knew that, under normal circumstances, he wouldn't stand a chance against a man of such strength.
But Blake had no choice. He had to reach Ace. Garp wasn't moving, and Blake couldn't let him stop the rescue. Blake surged forward, lightning crackling around him as he prepared to strike.
"Here goes nothing."
Blake's leg sparked with electricity as he launched a lightning kick toward Garp's midsection, the force of the blow crackling through the air.
Garp raised his arm to intercept the kick launched at him, but seeing the old man moving in his future sight, Blake anticipated his defense move and adjusted his kick to bypass his arm. But even as the kick connected, Blake felt it—this old man wasn't resisting. He allowed himself to get hit, the lightning dancing off his body as he flew backward, crashing into a pile of debris with a thunderous impact.
Blake's kick wouldn't have budged him otherwise.
As Garp lay in the wreckage, Blake's eyes narrowed. He's letting me get to Ace. Why?
Blake's mind raced, but he had no time to dwell on it. Did Ace mean something to this old man? His grandson, maybe?
Blake shook the thoughts from his head and dashed toward Ace, who had been chained and weakened for too long. As Blake reached him, Ace looked up, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in the stranger before him.
Ace's voice was raspy but filled with both confusion and a trace of amusement.
"Who the hell are you?"
Blake smirked, casting a relaxed glance at Ace, the battlefield chaos continuing around them.
"I'm just the guy making sure your little brother doesn't get himself killed while trying to save you."
Ace's eyes flickered with recognition, softening as he recalled Luffy's reckless charge toward the platform.
"That sounds like him." His voice was tired but laced with affection.
"I saw him down there, rushing in like an idiot."
Blake nodded, electricity still crackling softly around him as he crouched to help Ace.
"Yeah, he's been causing quite a stir. But we can admire his guts later. For now, let's get you out of here."
Ace chuckled softly, though his tiredness was evident.
"Always rushing in headfirst..." His gaze hardened with determination. "Alright, let's go."
Blake grinned as he caught Ace under his arm.
"Name's Blake, by the way. Blake D. Flame. Pirate with a bad reputation, and apparently, your getaway driver today."
Ace raised an eyebrow, but the faintest hint of a grin crossed his face as he let himself get carried.
"Well, Blake, if you can keep Luffy alive, I'll gladly take the help."
Blake scanned the battlefield. The moment they moved, they would be targeted by every Marine and Admiral in sight. There was no way they could fight their way through—not with the likes of Aokiji, Kizaru, and Akainu nearby.
Blake's eyes flickered with intensity.
"We need to mislead them."
He raised his hand, focusing on the Mirror Knight card. With a swift gesture, he conjured a series of mirror-like surfaces around them, just large enough to reflect both him and Ace. His ability to create illusions was key here, but this time, it needed to be precise, nearly flawless.
His proficiency with both the Mirror Knight and Mikoto Misaka cards had increased significantly. His repetitive use of the abilities throughout the battlefield had pushed them to new levels. With his mirror card, he can now conjure up to 6 mirrors with a size increased to 2m x 2m.
With Mikoto's card, the power of the railgun and electromagnetism attack increased significantly. He can also now launch lightning spears with moderate strength in front of him.
Three mirrors now formed a triangle pattern around him and Ace, rendering them invisible as they moved. Blake knew it wouldn't last forever, but it was enough to buy them time. The operation was flawless
"Hold tight," Blake muttered, grabbing Ace and pulling him under his arm. Weakened from his imprisonment and shackled, Ace couldn't run on his own, so Blake carried him with ease, his powerful body bolting through the battlefield. The three remaining mirrors shifted and flickered at the same time they went invisible, creating illusory doubles of Blake and Ace that ran in the opposite direction. At the same time, the triangle of mirrors kept their natural bodies hidden, blending them into the surroundings.
The illusion moved as they did, dodging attacks and weaving through the chaos as if they were truly alive. Blake used his future sight to predict the incoming attacks and adjusted the illusion accordingly, making it appear that they were narrowly escaping death at every turn.
Blake's face tensed as he focused, maintaining the illusions while navigating the battlefield. His enhanced reaction speed, combined with his future sight, allowed him to anticipate every threat. The illusory doubles dodged bullets, cannon fire, and even long-range Admiral attacks as Blake guided them through the battlefield.
The invisibility created by the mirrors kept their real forms hidden for as long as possible, but Blake knew the burden was heavy. Keeping six mirrors active, maintaining the illusions, and using his electromagnetic powers to speed away were draining his stamina faster than he expected.
"Just a little longer," Blake muttered, gritting his teeth. His muscles tensed as he pushed himself to maintain the deception.
But Observation Haki wasn't something Blake could outrun forever. Soon, the higher-ranking Marines began to focus. Aokiji, Kizaru, and several Vice-Admirals were starting to track their actual location through the fog of illusions.
Blake felt the shift in the air and the sharp spike of attention from the Admirals as they began to hone in on him and Ace. Aokiji was already preparing to freeze the ground beneath them while Kizaru aimed another light-speed attack in their direction.
Blake's future sight showed him everything: Aokiji's ice, Kizaru's laser, and the exact moment they would pinpoint his actual position. But it was already too late when they realized what was happening.
Blake smirked.
"Not fast enough."
He canceled the illusion just as the Admirals' attacks closed in, the mirrors shattering mid-air. Their real forms reappeared, but they were already out of range, bolting through the chaos of the battlefield. The illusions dissolved, but Blake had already slipped past the danger, carrying Ace under his arm.
"We're clear," Blake muttered, slowing down once they were out of immediate danger. He let out a deep breath, the strain of maintaining the illusions and running at such high speed finally catching up to him. His muscles ached, but the satisfaction of outsmarting the Marines was worth it.
Ace glanced at him, breathing heavily.
"How did you...?"
Blake gave him a slight grin, still catching his breath.
"Told you. I'm your ticket out."
