Capítulo 120: Chapter 119

In fact, Kara arrived on Oa long before Hal Jordan.

Upon her arrival, she was taken directly to what the Guardians refer to as the "Sanctuary," an important area that holds significant meaning on Oa. Before Kara had time to take in the sight of Oa's alien landscape, the gentle glow of the green power ring let her float lightly to the ground without any discomfort.

Kara was still dressed in her classic red and blue Kryptonian suit, untouched by any hint of green.

As Kara took in her surroundings, she noticed several small, blue-skinned figures—Guardians of the Universe—standing atop a high platform. The Guardians are known as some of the oldest beings in the cosmos, boasting advanced technology and knowledge of the emotional spectrum. Some legends even suggest that they were responsible for the creation of the multiverse and the antimatter universe through one of their scientific experiments gone awry.

Despite finding herself on a strange planet, surrounded by unknown entities, Kara felt no fear. Instead, she curiously observed the diminutive blue beings who watched her with intense scrutiny.

Suddenly, a stern voice called out behind her, "Who are you? How dare you trespass in the Sanctuary!"

Turning, Kara saw a Green Lantern with black hair and red skin, his features somewhat similar to those of a human, though his demeanor radiated power and authority. Oddly, Kara noticed he wore a yellow ring—an emblem of fear, the opposite of the willpower-driven green ring. She smirked and said, "So, when you can't defeat the enemy, you join them? By wielding the power of fear, you've already surrendered to it. Are you mad?"

The Lantern, clearly uncomfortable, quickly hid the yellow ring.

At this, the Guardians on the high platform exchanged glances, and one spoke, his voice calm and steady, "A Kryptonian... we thought your kind were lost to history."

Kara's expression hardened. "What's that supposed to mean? Would it have pleased you to see us wiped out completely?" She raised herself into the air, rising to the Guardians' level—not through the power of the ring but by her natural ability, a demonstration of her Kryptonian strength.

To the Green Lanterns gathered below, Kara's actions came across as a blatant show of disrespect, and one of them immediately activated his ring as a communicator, alerting all Green Lanterns on Oa that a confrontation could break out at any moment.

It was at this point that Hal Jordan arrived, catching sight of the scene: Kara hovering in mid-air, gazing coldly at the Guardians.

With a firm tone, Kara demanded, "If you're the Guardians of the Universe, where were you when Krypton was destroyed? You must have had some presence in our sector, correct?"

She hadn't intended to question them, for she knew that help in such a disaster was never guaranteed. However, the Guardian's dismissive attitude struck a nerve, forcing her to wonder if there was more to the story.

Another Guardian responded, "Before that, we require you to surrender the green power ring you now wield. That is not an ordinary ring; it is the original source green ring, the first of its kind. Unlike others, it draws directly from the well of willpower in the emotional spectrum and does not require recharging."

Kara looked surprised. So, this ring was special after all, she thought, but she quickly hid her surprise with a sardonic smile. "Oh, so now you want it back? Then tell me—what role did you play in Krypton's destruction?"

Her question wasn't unfounded. The Guardians' attitude only deepened her mistrust.

As tensions rose, hundreds of Green Lanterns flew into the Sanctuary, filling the sky around her. Some voices rose in anger. "How dare you speak to the Guardians like this! Do you wish for death?" one shouted.

"Then perhaps you'll be the first I strike down!" Kara roared, her red cloak billowing behind her. She was struggling to keep her anger under control, the tragic memory of Krypton's fall pushing her closer to the edge, her eyes flashing dangerously with heat vision.

One of the Guardians sighed, his voice filled with a trace of sadness. "Daughter of Krypton, we are not your enemy. Long ago, 100,000 years in the past, we had disagreements with the Kryptonians. They were ambitious, expanding across the cosmos through colonization. However, after a time, we reached an agreement. When the Kryptonians abandoned their colonization efforts, we ceased viewing them as adversaries."

"Oh, is that so?" Kara replied coldly. "It seems there was more to the story. Tell me, what was your response when Krypton was destroyed? Your answer will decide whether I leave you in peace or destroy you here and now."

"You are too arrogant," a voice cut in from below. This time it was Sinestro, a powerful and influential member of the Green Lantern Corps. He had watched Kara's boldness for long enough and was eager to teach her a lesson.

But before Sinestro could make a move, Kara's figure blurred, and in an instant, she was in front of him, her boot pressed firmly against his chest. A loud thud echoed as Sinestro was pinned to the floor, shaking the Sanctuary to its core.

Kara lifted her head, her golden hair flowing as she declared, "Unless I get an answer today, I'll tear this place apart."

Just as her voice faded, explosions echoed from another part of Oa, and two beams of light—one red and one black—shot toward Kara, filling the Guardians with a rare expression of worry.

The red light, the embodiment of rage, and the black light, the embodiment of death, were now approaching her.
