Capítulo 29: Did you save me?

Zuri woke up feeling empty. Her tears began to flow again, and the pain was overwhelming. The fact that Simon had sold her, and the image of Simon kissing another woman so passionately, completely broke Zuri's heart.

Her sobs became uncontrollable. She was caught in a whirlpool of anger, betrayal, and deep pain. She felt betrayed not only by the man she had once thought of as her protector, but also by the fate that had put her in this situation.

She wiped away her tears and, with a shaky breath, got up from the sofa where she was sleeping. She scanned the room and realised that Liam's office lights were still on.

Zuri felt grateful to be back in this room, with everything still intact. She had almost lost her honour, and it was scary to think about. But luckily, her saviour came at the right time.
