Capítulo 9: We are going to share a room!

Zuri squirmed, the midday sun breaking through the gap in the curtains. Her body ached. Anya had tried to wake her up gently in the morning, but Zuri, exhausted refused to get up. Now, finally after she had cleaned herself up then called Anya. She plopped down on the soft armchair, her stomach getting hungry. "Anya, will you be a good girl and bring me lunch?"

"Of course, Miss," Anya replied. "The doctor is scheduled to visit this afternoon." Placing a laden tray before Zuri, she added, " Miss, today you'll be moving to another room. Mr. Liam ordered that you move to the room that's just been renovated," Anya explained while feeding Zuri, who was too lazy to eat by herself. Just like a big baby. That was Princess Elara, used to being served like that. So now that she had Anya, she felt like she was back in her kingdom. Her spoiled nature was coming back, even though she was now in Zuri's body.

Zuri, picking at her food with little appetite, frowned. "Tell him I refuse. I'm perfectly comfortable here." The mere thought of Liam, with his commanding presence and that face a chilling echo of Prince Tristan, ignited a wave of resentment within her.

"Miss, it's not wise to oppose Young Master," Anya reminded. "He could get angry if you defy him."

"Angry?" Zuri sneered, there was a spark of resistance in her eyes. "She's a monster, Anya! He doesn't just 'get angry'. He kills." The last word came out, a bitter whisper that Anya didn't hear.

Zuri looked at Anya.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Yes, I won't talk about Mr. Liam anymore," Anya smiled at her young employer's behavior.

"It's better that way, because I don't want to hear his name. I'm just curious, don't you want to hear my story, how I was rescued from the kidnapping? And you didn't tell me how you got back home. Didn't you tell Liam that I was kidnapped?" Zuri asked, annoyed that Anya hadn't told her about the kidnapping she had just experienced.

"Oh, I was so happy to see you safe that I forgot to ask!" Anya replied very quickly.

"How could I ask when Miss Zuri's condition is so worrying. If I ask, I'm afraid I'll remind her of the kidnapping."

Zuri could hear Anya's thoughts, waiting for her to actually speak. Zuri was getting used to hearing the thoughts of the people she touched. It seemed like a good idea to pretend to touch people just to read their thoughts. She chuckled to herself.

"I went home with the guards. I didn't see Mr. Liam then. I only saw him two hours before you got home. He went straight to his room with the doctor," Anya explained as she looked at her young employer. Zuri looked back at her, sensing that Anya had nothing to hide.

"With a doctor? Is Liam sick?" Zuri asked, now curious, forgetting her earlier question about the kidnapping.

"I'm not sure, miss. Mr. Liam is very private. I wouldn't dare ask anything beyond my duties." Anya replied, always cautious when it came to Liam.

"Yes, I understand. Liam is indeed frustrating and very private. No wonder there are rumors that he's an old, fat man with scars on his face and is incredibly ugly. Honestly, he's just awful," Zuri said while chewing her food, her complaints making Anya chuckle softly.

"Miss Zuri needs glasses. Mr. Liam is very handsome. But she makes such fun of him. If only Mr. Liam would show his true face, many women would line up to marry him. But unfortunately, Mr. Liam never shows his true self and lets the rumors spread," Anya thought, clearly admiring Liam's appearance.

Zuri chuckled at Anya's unspoken praise of Liam's good looks. Sure, Liam was handsome, but his personality was so unbearable that it made him ugly in Zuri's eyes.

In Zuri's or Elara's mind, Simon or Axel was the most handsome. As for Liam, to Zuri or Elara, he represented a past she wanted to destroy. But fate had forced her to be with the man she despised. Liam's face constantly reminded her of Prince Tristan, and that hatred hadn't faded.

"Why are you laughing?" Anya asked when she saw her mistress suddenly laughing.

"Oh, nothing. You're just funny. If we could switch places, I'd let you marry Liam so I could be free," Zuri said, making Anya blush.

"Why would you say that?" Anya asked, confused. Her mistress sometimes seemed to be a mind reader. But surely that was just her imagination.

"Never mind. I'm going to rest again. My body still hurts all over," Zuri said. Anya nodded and quietly left the room, leaving her mistress to rest.

Zuri lay back on the soft bed, but her mind refused to rest. Her conversation with Anya had only increased her curiosity.

Why did Liam bring a doctor to his room? Was he really sick? Zuri wondered.

"Ah… why am I even thinking about him?" Zuri muttered to herself as she closed her eyes. She wanted to call Simon, but her phone was lost during the kidnapping. It seemed like she'd have to ask Liam for a new one, though she'd prefer to go through Anya, as she had no desire to speak directly to Liam. His face alone reminded her too much of Prince Tristan, reigniting the hatred she was trying to erase. Yet, even with Axel's presence as Simon in this world, that resentment continued to gnaw at her.

"Axel, I miss you," Zuri whispered softly before drifting into sleep, tears streaming down her face.

The sound of hooves and clashing swords jolted Zuri awake.

Her eyes widened as she found herself back in the past. But why was Axel still alive? And why was Prince Tristan there, too? It looked like they were about to fight. She wanted to scream, but no sound came out. All she could do was watch from afar.

A fierce battle ensued, with Prince Tristan clearly having the upper hand over Axel.

When Axel fell from his horse, Prince Tristan surprisingly didn't finish the fight. Instead, he decided to walk away. But unbeknownst to Tristan, Axel grabbed a spear and hurled it, piercing Tristan's back. Suddenly, Zuri felt like she was being pulled through a portal.

She awoke in a cold sweat. The nightmare felt all too real, the bloody battlefield and the sight of Prince Tristan's death making her heart race.

"Just a dream," she whispered, trying to calm herself and wiping away the tears she hadn't realized were falling. "But why did I see Prince Tristan's death and not Axel's?"

She tried to push the nightmare from her mind. Glancing at the clock, she noticed that it was already 3 pm. Anya hadn't returned, although the doctor should have arrived by now.

Suddenly the door opened to reveal Liam standing in the doorway. His face was cold and blank.

"The doctor is here. He's waiting for you in the newly renovated room," Liam said in a distant tone. Zuri was slightly confused. Why hadn't Anya come for her?

Zuri frowned. "Why do I have to go there? Shouldn't the doctor come here?"

"You can walk, right?" Liam answered with a question, ignoring hers.

Zuri huffed in annoyance. "Of course I can walk. But my body still hurts. Shouldn't the doctor-"

"Don't talk too much. Hurry up!" Liam cut her off sharply.

Zuri glared at him, her anger flaring. Liam's cold, harsh attitude only made her more disgusted.

"Fine," she finally relented, getting up and following him out the door.

Liam walked ahead, with Zuri following behind, her steps heavy. She watched Liam's back, her thoughts still haunted by the dream.

After the doctor examined her and left, Zuri started to return to her room, but Liam stopped her.

"Didn't Anya tell you you were changing rooms today?" Liam asked with his usual cold expression.

"She did, but I don't want to," Zuri replied and tried to leave. But Liam quickly grabbed her arm.

"I'm not asking your permission. I'm giving you an order," Liam said icily.

"Let go! You're hurting me! I don't want to!" Zuri protested, defying Liam's demand. In her mind, Liam was Prince Tristan, the murderer of her lover.

"Fine, but don't blame me if I destroy your beloved Simon's career if you continue to defy me!" Liam threatened mercilessly.

Zuri fell silent, no longer daring to argue. Was it her father who had taught Liam to threaten her like that? Because when it came to Simon's career, Zuri would not dare to fight back.

"Well," she began tentatively, "could Anya at least stay in this room with me?"

Liam's lips curled into a cruel smile. "No. Because we are going to share a room."

"What?" Zuri gasped, her eyes widening in disbelief.
