Capítulo 45: Chapter 45: Killing the Mandala Snake

Night had fallen, with the full moon hanging high in the sky.

In the dense forest, darkness still reigned, the clearing illuminated only faintly. The long, massive body of the Mandala Snake writhed on the ground in agony, its hissing echoing through the trees.

Seeing that the Grandmaster and Tang San were still standing there, watching him, Lin Ye frowned and shouted, "The Mandala Snake isn't dead yet! Move!"

His yell snapped them out of their trance, and they quickly scrambled away to safety.

While the Grandmaster and Tang San retreated, Lin Ye activated his Phoenix Dance Six Illusions technique, enhancing his vision with the power of his external soul bone, the Twin-Pupils. He zigzagged across the ground at incredible speed, charging directly at the Mandala Snake.

His target? The iron sword embedded in the snake's head!

This Mandala Snake, with nearly four hundred years of cultivation, was covered in tough, dark green scales. It would be nearly impossible to pierce those scales barehanded. He needed a sharp weapon.

If he had used his Xuanyuan Sword Spirit earlier, a single blow would have pierced the snake's skull, killing it instantly. But his father had always warned him not to reveal the Xuanyuan Sword Spirit in front of others.

So Lin Ye had opted for an iron sword to save the Grandmaster, avoiding exposure. But this choice had created a new problem.

Though his strength had been enough to drive the iron sword through the Mandala Snake's tough scales and into its skull, the blade had not fully penetrated into its brain. It was stuck halfway through, with part of the sword still protruding from the snake's head. Now, Lin Ye needed to retrieve it.

With his Twin-Pupils guiding his movements, Lin Ye's Phoenix Dance Six Illusions allowed him to dodge the Mandala Snake's frantic thrashing as he raced toward the sword. His body flickered like a phantom, evading the snake's erratic attacks with ease.

"So fast!" Tang San, watching from the sidelines, was stunned. Lin Ye's speed was even faster than his own Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and far more agile.

And compared to Lin Ye, Tang San's technique couldn't sustain such long-lasting movement.

Is this a soul skill? Or something else, like my martial arts? Tang San was filled with confusion as he watched.

As Lin Ye closed in on the Mandala Snake, the snake finally regained some of its strength.

"Hisss!"

Noticing Lin Ye's approach, the snake let out a piercing screech. It raised its long body high and swung its thick tail at Lin Ye with blinding speed.

But Lin Ye, light as a feather with his Phoenix Dance Six Illusions, easily evaded the attack. Just as the tail came crashing toward him, Lin Ye leapt into the air, soaring six or seven meters high, dodging the strike effortlessly.

The Mandala Snake followed up with a vicious bite, but Lin Ye flipped mid-air, avoiding its fangs once again. He landed lightly on the snake's back.

Without pausing, Lin Ye darted across the length of the snake's body, moving as quickly as a shadow. In a series of swift movements, he reached the snake's head and gripped the hilt of the iron sword.

The sword had pierced through the scales and into the flesh. As Lin Ye began to pull it free, the Mandala Snake shrieked in pain, thrashing even more violently.

But Lin Ye didn't falter. With a shout, he channeled all his strength and yanked the sword out with one powerful motion.

"Die!"

Standing atop the Mandala Snake, Lin Ye was in the safest position. Gripping the iron sword in both hands, he aimed for the snake's eye—its only unprotected spot.

If he struck, it would take only a little force to drive the sword through the snake's brain, killing it instantly.

"Lin Ye, wait!"

Just as Lin Ye was about to deliver the fatal blow, a voice called out.

"The Mandala Snake's cultivation is perfect for Xiao San! Wound it, but don't kill it!"

It was the Grandmaster, who had suddenly realized that the Mandala Snake was the ideal match for Tang San's spirit ring. He hurriedly called out to stop Lin Ye.

Hearing the Grandmaster's words, Lin Ye furrowed his brow but complied. He lessened the force of his strike, only piercing the snake's eye, before quickly pulling the sword back out.

"Hisss!"

Blood spurted from the Mandala Snake's eye like a fountain. In agony, the snake thrashed its head against a nearby tree, trying to dislodge Lin Ye from its head.

But Lin Ye, still using his Phoenix Dance Six Illusions, leapt gracefully into the air, dodging the impact with ease.

When he landed on the snake's head again, Lin Ye let out a low growl. He gripped the iron sword in his left hand, and with his right fist, summoned all his strength and delivered a crushing punch to the snake's skull.

After three months of intense training, Lin Ye's punches had already surpassed two thousand pounds of force.

And with the enhancement of his Nine Yang True Qi, his punch now carried more than three thousand pounds of power.

The force of the punch echoed through the Mandala Snake's head, sending its brain into a daze. Blood gushed once more from its wounded eye, splattering the ground in a gruesome spray.

"Hisss!"

The Mandala Snake let out one final, agonized screech before its massive body collapsed to the ground, raising a cloud of dust as it hit.

Even after the snake was down, Lin Ye didn't stop. He continued to rain heavy punches onto the snake's head, ensuring it was left barely clinging to life.

"Xiao San, now!"

Seeing that Lin Ye had beaten the Mandala Snake to the brink of death, the Grandmaster quickly pulled out a dagger and handed it to Tang San.

Tang San nodded, taking the dagger and quickly approaching the snake.

With a calm and determined expression, Tang San stepped up to the Mandala Snake's head. After taking a deep breath, he drove the dagger into the snake's eye and gave it a forceful push.

The sharp blade pierced through the snake's brain, exiting through the other eye before embedding itself into a nearby tree.

"Hisss!"

With one last screech, the Mandala Snake's body convulsed slightly before finally going still.

Its massive form twitched a few more times, but there was no longer any life in it.

As Tang San finished off the Mandala Snake, countless faint yellow lights began to drift from the snake's body, slowly gathering into a yellow spirit ring above the corpse.
