Capítulo 50: Confrontation with Bruno

As I remained seated and stared blankly at Bruno in his office, the weight of my earlier outburst hung over me like a dark cloud. 

I was terrified that Sofia must have come to tell Bruno about what I had said and the uncertainty of not knowing how he would react to my new found information made me uneasy in this slightly large room.

My heart pounded against my ribcage, a reminder of the countless ways this could go wrong. 

Yet, beneath my fear simmered a deep resentment that had been growing ever since I'd first crossed paths with Bruno and his family.

I have only known fear of being trampled upon by this family of influence and power and it was already becoming tiring to even keep up a straight face with them.

Bruno sat behind his desk, his expression unreadable as he watched me.

I couldn't tell if he wanted to come across his table and squeeze my neck out of anger, but I had no other choice than to wait and see what will happen next.
