Capítulo 49: The Summons

I paced back and forth across my room, trying to make sense if exactly what I had done just mere moments ago. 

My mind replayed the heated exchange with Sofia over and over, the words echoing in my head with relentless clarity. 

Why had I let my anger get the best of me? I'd just thrown the knowledge of Bruno's first wife out like a weapon. I had exposed my hand, shown Sofia that I knew more than she'd ever expected. But at what cost?

Now that Sofia knows that I have knowledge about Bruno's first wife, it wouldn't be long before he finds out too.

I buried my face in my hands, embarrassed that I had said such a thing to an unstable person like Sofia who had all the money and influence to get rid of me without a trace like my half-sister.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what had happened to her. Maybe she had tried to resist members of the Alfonzo family and it ended up blowing in her face like a dynamite.
