Hugo stood frozen in the steamy shower, the soapy loofah dangling uselessly in his hand like some awkward prop he didn't know what to do with.

The air was thick with warmth and the faint scent of Lisa's wonderful body wash, but Hugo's brain was working overtime in all the wrong directions.

'Okay, Hugo, think. What's next? You've already washed her like some weird spa employee. Do you just... stand here? Is there a post-loofah protocol? Maybe a casual conversation? Am I supposed to say something seductive?'

He stared at Lisa, who had this small, knowing smile on her face, as though she could hear every dumb thought in his head.

His heart raced. Not because of nerves—he was past that now—but because he felt like he was standing on the edge of something monumental. Something exciting.
