Hugo stood there in the shower with Lisa, his brain oscillating between complete shutdown and full-blown fireworks.

Their eyes locked, the steam swirling around them like a scene straight out of a romance movie—if romance movies starred socially awkward dudes who had no idea what to do next.

His heart was beating faster than a drum solo at a rock concert, but he refused to let it show. 'Come on, Hugo. Play it cool. Don't freak out.'

He quickly activated the Aura of Zen—just two seconds of magical calm to keep himself from blurting out something like, "Hi, nice weather we're having… in this shower." On the outside, he looked calm and collected. On the inside, though? Full-on panic mode.

Her delicious body was so close. Like, so close. They were basically two bread rolls fresh out of the oven, and Hugo had no idea how he wasn't already fainting.

The warmth radiating off her skin, the way her wet hair clung to her shoulders—it was all too much.
