Capítulo 155: The surprise birthday gift

Ava blinked at the screen, her chest tightening. The text was unexpected, disarming her entirely. "Gift? Did he really prepare a gift for me?"

Ava found it hard to believe it. She read the text yet again to confirm if she hadn't read it wrongly. "He did prepare a gift for me," she mumbled with wonder and doubt.

She rose quickly, her curiosity overpowering her skepticism, and hurried out of the bedroom. Her feet moved faster as she approached the study, her heart racing with anticipation. Pushing the door open, she flicked on the lights and scanned the room, searching for a box, a bag, anything resembling a gift. But there was nothing.

"Dylan! Was that a prank?" Her teeth ground together as frustration bubbled to the surface. "Why am I so stupid? He's never wished me a happy birthday before, let alone prepared a gift. What was I expecting? Forget it." She shrugged. "I'll leave this place, his life, and everything related to him. I am so done."
