—Timeline still two years ago—
Zhu Zhuqing and Zhu Shu entered the Star Dou Forest. On the third day, they finally found a Darkwind Leopard that was nearly 700 years old. With the help of Zhu Shu, who was a Soul King, Zhu Zhuqing hardly had to exert herself to kill the heavily injured Darkwind Leopard.
Zhu Shu said, "Miss, quickly absorb this soul ring. I'll keep watch around us!"
Hearing this, a trace of emotion flickered on Zhu Zhuqing's usually cold face. She had felt uneasy over the past few days. However, trusting her guard of many years, she sat down to absorb the soul ring.
Zhu Shu stood guard, fully alert. Half an hour passed quickly.
Suddenly, a sharp female voice came from afar.
"Haha! My dear sister, I've finally got you."
Zhu Shu was startled. The enemy had chosen this precise moment, just when his lady was absorbing a soul ring. This was a well-planned ambush!
Without hesitation, Zhu Shu summoned his martial soul, the Berserk Leopard, and shouted, "Who goes there?"
Five black-clad figures appeared, surrounding Zhu Shu and Zhu Zhuqing. Judging by their silhouettes, they were clearly women, and quite beautiful ones at that.
Zhu Shu recognized the familiar figure and smiled bitterly, sighing, "I never thought it would be you, Miss Zhuyun."
The leader, Zhu Zhuyun, the eldest daughter of the Zhu family of the Star Luo Empire, did not get angry when she was exposed. Instead, she laughed coldly, filled with killing intent.
"Haha, Zhu Shu, you have sharp eyes! But it's a pity. Today, you must die."
She then ordered loudly, "A Biao, kill him."
As soon as her words fell, the ground began to tremble. A giant man, nearly two meters tall, approached with heavy steps. Behind him appeared a four-meter-tall phantom of a black bear. His soul rings, yellow, yellow, purple, purple, purple, circled around him. He was also a Soul King.
The giant man wasted no time. The black bear phantom merged with his body, turning him into a humanoid black bear. He then charged toward Zhu Shu and Zhu Zhuqing with incredible speed.
Normally, Zhu Shu, being a fellow Soul King, would not fear this giant. He could use his agility to avoid the charge and counterattack. But now he couldn't do that, as Zhu Zhuqing was sitting behind him.
Zhu Shu had no choice but to face the attack head-on. However, as an agility-type soul master, he couldn't match the strength of a power-type soul master and quickly fell into a disadvantage.
Zhu Zhuyun, the leader, was not going to wait for the battle to be decided. This was the best chance to kill Zhu Zhuqing, who was now absorbing her second soul ring and completely defenseless. There would be no better time to strike.
She had been following from a distance, biding her time for this moment.
"Attack now," Zhu Zhuyun ordered, pointing at Zhu Zhuqing.
The four black-clad figures were Zhu Zhuyun's subordinates. Even though their target was their own second young lady, they showed no mercy to the enemy faction. They activated their martial souls and launched themselves toward Zhu Zhuqing.
At the critical moment, Zhu Shu evaded the charging bear soul master with extreme speed and defended against the four incoming attackers.
The two sides were once again at a standoff.
At that moment, Zhu Zhuqing woke up. After absorbing the Darkwind Leopard's soul ring, she successfully broke through to the 21st level and acquired her second soul skill: Netherworld Hundred Claws.
Seeing the black-clad figures around her and the injured Zhu Shu standing protectively in front of her, Zhu Zhuqing's expression grew even colder. She asked in a frosty voice, "Zhu Shu, what is this?"
Zhu Shu wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and lowered his voice so only the two of them could hear. "Miss, they are led by Miss Zhuyun. You must run, and I'll hold them off."
Upon hearing this, Zhu Zhuqing's anger grew. Her elder sister had indeed been scheming against her.
Clenching her fists until her nails dug into her palms, drawing blood, she glanced at the masked Zhu Zhuyun. Biting her lip, she said in a low voice, "Take care."
She had considered staying to help Zhu Shu fight against her sister. But she knew their target was her. Although she had gained her second soul ring and reached level 21, she was no match for Zhu Zhuyun, who was a Soul Elder. Only by fleeing would Zhu Shu be safe. Given his agility, he could escape on his own.
With a leap, Zhu Zhuqing jumped onto a tree branch and fled into the distance.
Zhu Zhuyun and her group followed closely behind.
Despite Zhu Shu's desperate efforts to fend off the Bear Soul King and two other Soul Elders, Zhu Zhuyun, along with two more Soul Elders, managed to pursue Zhu Zhuqing.-

Elsewhere in the Star Dou Forest...
Having just reached level 30, Zuzong was quickly traversing the forest. He intended to find a third soul ring with a powerful control effect, preferably a mass control skill. His first soul skill focused on control and poison, while the second enhanced his attack power. He needed a skill to counter agile opponents effectively.
Inspired by Tang San, he had set his sights on the Pit Spider or Cave Spider, the ideal choice for his third soul ring. However, after wandering the Star Dou Forest for over half a month, he still hadn't found it.
"Damn, I've been searching for half a month. Where is that damned Cave Spider? If I'd known, I'd have spent more time going to the Sunset Forest."
Now, some may ask, doesn't the protagonist have a system?
Yes, Zuzong used it, spending a lot of resentment points. The system provided only vague guidance, leading him to find various spider-type soul beasts, but not the Pit Spider.
Suddenly, the sound of battle came from afar!
Zuzong raised an eyebrow, muttering to himself, "Hmm? There's movement. It's from the direction of the cliff where I passed earlier. Let's go take a look!"
With a flash, Zuzong disappeared from where he stood, using his soul power to dash toward the cliff.
With his Body Flicker Technique, Zuzong was virtually unstoppable in the outer and even inner areas of the Star Dou Forest. As long as he didn't run into the several 100,000-year-old beasts in the core area, he had nothing to fear.
After a cup of tea's time, Zuzong finally reached the source of the disturbance.
He saw three black-clad figures wielding bloodstained daggers, chasing a little girl of about ten years old—it was Zhu Zhuqing and three of Zhu Zhuyun's people. The little girl was clearly outmatched, her arm already slashed with deep wounds, bleeding profusely.
"Damn, how can they do this! Should I intervene or not?"
