Capítulo 51: Chapter 51: Meeting With You Know Who, Again

Fury, as the king of agents who believed he had the most information on Earth, was shocked when Emma told him that someone knew the future.

Speaking of it, although they had tried every means possible, they still weren't able to find anything related to the Mage Association that Emma had mentioned to them.

Before he could even ask, Emma said to him: "Don't overthink it. This organization has existed for thousands of years. You wouldn't be able to find information about it if they didn't want you to."

It was another bombshell that she dropped on Fury. The paranoid man couldn't fathom the existence of an organization on Earth that had persisted for millennia and wielded such strength.

Even so, Fury couldn't help but ask: "So, what's your role in this organization, and what exactly is its objective?"

Still wanting to gather as much information as possible, Fury's worry was evident on his face, even though he tried to hide it. Emma sighed before saying: "I don't even know why I'm telling you this, but this will be the last time and the only thing I'm allowed to let you know."

"The organization protects Earth from threats like gods, demons, beings from other universes or dimensions, and, in particular, a certain dark god who wants to devour Earth. As for me, I'm the personal disciple of the Sorcerer Supreme."

Fury had known about the existence of aliens for a long time and believed they were Earth's biggest threat. But now, Emma was talking about gods and beings from other universes.

Did this mean that other universes really existed? If so, how did they affect their universe? Was there some kind of multiversal war that Earth needed to be shielded from?

Earth hadn't even started space exploration, and now he was being told they were facing gods and the possibility of a multiversal war.

Emma, of course, knew why she was revealing this information. She wanted Fury to understand the urgency of Earth's vulnerability. She was certain he would inform his "daddies" (the World Security Council), which worked to her advantage. It would prompt them to allow her to create her school and train their so-called army.

As for Kamar-Taj and the Ancient One, she could only apologize. In any case, she hadn't said much, just vague information.

With Fury lost in thought over what she had said, the small meeting disbanded. Emma hitched a ride with Logan and Ororo, who had come by car. She would definitely buy one for herself next week.

...

Emma's daily routine, after the Hulk mission, returned to her usual activities: going to Xavier's school, visiting the hospital, and training at Kamar-Taj. It wasn't until eight days later that she heard back from Fury.

She had just returned from the hospital when she saw him waiting for her outside. At least he didn't barge in uninvited like he had with Stark.

His personal visit didn't surprise Emma. Given the importance of what they were about to discuss, Fury had no choice but to come in person.

Once they were inside, Emma remarked: "To be honest, you took longer than I expected. I have many important things to do, but you took an eternity."

Fury sighed. "Come on. You have no idea how hard it is dealing with the World Security Council. Those people are too shameless and demand too many benefits."

Emma couldn't help but laugh. "Haha, it doesn't really matter. Although we lack time to relax, what matters most is the result."

Fury nodded. As the king of agents, apart from the World Security Council and his direct subordinates, it was rare for him to meet someone more than three times a year. Yet here he was, having another meeting with Emma as if it were routine.

He thought to himself that this woman carried an air of mystery that was impossible to ignore. Nonetheless, he said, "Well, it's not easy to trust someone, especially when that person could surpass you and, if not handled carefully, become a threat one day."

As always, Emma was direct. "So, how did it end up?"

Fury wasn't surprised by her bluntness. After extensive evaluations of her personality, it was clear that she was serious and, while not rigid, rarely indulged in small talk.

He replied, "Don't worry. It's good."

Pausing to gauge her reaction, he was disappointed to see her calm, as if she had anticipated the outcome. He continued, "The World Security Council is ready to fund your school, including teachers and resources. But they have some conditions."

She nodded. It would be cliché for her to be overwhelmed at this point. As long as the conditions weren't unreasonable, she could accept some of them.

Fury handed her a document, which appeared to be a contract. He didn't leave but stayed, observing her apartment while she read.

Thanks to her experience as a teacher and the training she had received under Tsunade as Hokage, Emma read the document faster than any normal human could, without missing a single detail.

Once again, Fury was amazed by her supernatural abilities. Though he had been enhanced by an inferior version of the super-soldier serum, he couldn't hope to match her speed.

Emma finished reading and looked at Fury's stern face. Like her, he was someone to admire. The conditions he had secured for her were impressive.

The World Security Council had agreed to cover the entire cost of construction, pay all the teachers, continue supplying the school's needs, and even sponsor her with a monthly stipend.

However, some conditions made her reluctant. For instance, if a student became a criminal, she would have to provide all information about them and their abilities.

Additionally, any student deemed dangerous by the council would have to wear a monitoring device. She couldn't accept these terms.

She said, "I must say I'm satisfied with most of the conditions, but some are too overbearing, and I cannot accept them."

With that, a long negotiation began between the two.

END OF THE CHAPTER

Sigh, not in a good condition today, but well, that's good to be able to write this today.
