Capítulo 4: Chapter 4: Qingshan Town

Leaving Wutan City, Wei Yang finally breathed a sigh of relief on the way to Qingshan Town.

Facing Gu Xun'er's gaze, it would be a lie to say he wasn't nervous. After all, by Gu Xun'er's side, there were at least two Dou Huang experts secretly protecting her at all times.

He didn't want to attract any attention at the moment. Before having the power to protect himself, Wei Yang wanted to avoid any unexpected incidents.

Call it paranoia or fear of lacking power, these traits were inherited. Surviving alone in this foreign world, without anyone to rely on, gave him no sense of security. He had to be extremely cautious.

...

Several days later.

At dusk.

Wei Yang finally arrived at his destination. A small town on the outskirts of the Magical Beast Mountain Range: Qingshan Town.

This was a mercenary town.

Entering the town, most people on the streets were mercenaries, making a living relying on the Magical Beast Mountain Range.

Young men like Wei Yang, with fair features and a scholarly appearance, seemed a bit out of place here.

Dressed in black, he walked through the town. The passing mercenaries curiously eyed Wei Yang, and some with loose tongues even teased him.

"Hey, which family's young master has come to play here?"

"Haha, young master, hurry home."

"Keep your voices down, it wouldn't be good to make him cry."

"Hahaha~"

...

Wei Yang remained indifferent, too lazy to respond.

The strongest among them were only three or four-star Dou Zhe mercenaries, not worthy of his attention.

There was no need to engage with them.

Not far into the town, Wei Yang spotted a shop called Wan Yao Zhai.

Wan Yao Zhai was a well-known destination.

Wei Yang paused, watching with interest.

The place buzzed with activity, with mercenaries entering and leaving in small groups. Occasionally, injured ones were also carried in and out.

Standing in front of the shop, Wei Yang observed quietly, eavesdropping on the conversations around him.

From the mercenaries' discussions, there was no mention of Little Doctor Immortal. It seemed she had either not arrived yet or had just arrived, still young and not yet famed.

Considering her age, the Little Doctor Immortal would be at most twelve or thirteen now, right?

After watching for a while, Wei Yang turned and left.

He had no intention of seeking out or interacting with Little Doctor Immortal.

Admittedly, Little Doctor Immortal held a place in many people's hearts, Wei Yang included. But the Woeful Poison Body was an enormous problem!

Wei Yang had no plans of forming a harem.

See a beauty and make a move? Not happening.

After all, if you mess with someone, you should be responsible.

Wei Yang disliked trouble.

He's currently struggling himself, not having made it yet, so he has no interest in flirting and causing unnecessary complications.

Though admittedly tempted by the thought of her slender waist, for now, it's just imagination, as they haven't even met.

For such high-risk matters like the Woeful Poison Body, he'd best steer clear.

Well, he's resigned to letting things happen naturally.

Besides, isn't Qing Lin just as desirable?

That's a true snake waist!

...

He found an inn and booked a room.

After dinner and a quick wash, Wei Yang sat cross-legged on the bed, practicing his daily cultivation while contemplating certain matters.

Three years of cultivation had made the process well familiar to him, almost impossible to err even with closed eyes.

Given the strength of Wei Yang's soul, he could afford to split his focus to ponder other matters while cultivating.

"I need to get a storage ring," Wei Yang thought to himself.

In the cliff cave opportunity near Qingshan Town, the gold and silver treasures were piled like mountains, valued at least in the millions of gold coins minimum. Without a storage ring, how would he carry it all?

Moreover, there were many precious herbs inside that needed storing in a ring.

But storage rings were expensive. At present, he had only a few hundred gold coins, far from enough.

"Among all those from the Battle Qi Continent, I'm probably the most hard-up, aren't I?"

Already a six-star Dou Shi, yet he didn't even have a storage ring, with only a few hundred gold in his possession.

It's embarrassing just to think about.

And that cliff cave opportunity is also quite absurd. A Dou Huang left behind a legacy cave mansion stocked with mountains of gold coins, yet no storage ring or cultivation method? It just doesn't add up.

"Better not to dwell on it. Let's find that cave first. If push comes to shove, I'll just bring some jewels out to sell, buy a storage ring, and then make a second trip."

...

Magical Beast Mountain Range.

This is a paradise for adventurers and mercenaries. Every day, countless mercenaries enter the mountains to venture, either hunting magical beasts for their cores or gathering precious herbs.

Of course, many mercenaries who enter never come out again.

In the forest, ancient trees stood tall, overgrown with vines.

Shua!

A dark figure suddenly darted quickly out from a bush.

"Crushing Rock Palm!"

Crushing Rock Palm, a mid-level Huang tier Dou Skill.

Bang!

His hand, glowing faintly red with Dou Qi, slammed into the head of a first-tier pig-type magical beast.

Visible to the naked eye, the pig-like creature's head caved in immediately.

Wei Yang steadied himself, looked at the dead pig-type beast at his feet, and, drawing out a dagger from his waist, expertly opened up the carcass, extracting a yellowish earth-colored magic core from within.

"Lucky, got a magic core."

Wei Yang smiled, placing the core into his backpack.

He had been wandering around the outskirts of the Magical Beast Mountain Range for five to six days now, roughly scouting the area without yet discovering any trace of that cliff cave.

Wei Yang wasn't worried; after all, the items weren't going anywhere, and he would find them sooner or later.

By eliminating most areas on the outskirts through this reconnaissance, with continued persistence, he believed he was getting closer to the destination.

After a brief rest, Wei Yang continued to journey forward.

His hide backpack was bulging, filled with various herbs and magic cores, roughly estimated to be worth at least four to five thousand gold coins.

Along the way, Wei Yang moved cautiously.

Though it was merely the outskirts, where he encountered mostly first-tier beasts, with rare sightings of second-tier ones.

Yet caution was never a hindrance.

Occurrences of underestimating dangers were not unheard of.

Walking through the dense forest, his strong soul perception allowed him to avoid battles whenever possible since he wasn't here to just fight random beasts.

If he sensed magical beasts ahead, he'd choose to bypass them.

If a confrontation was unavoidable, he'd swiftly resolve it.

Weaving through the wooded paths, as noon neared, Wei Yang emerged from a dense grove.

The dim view suddenly brightened.

Wei Yang's eyes widened as he faced the steep cliff ahead. Below the cliff lay lush greenery, quite scenic.

His eyes brightened immediately, quickly advancing to the cliff edge for a better look.

The distance revealed endless green hills.

The terrain here seemed to resemble the description from the original work.

Retracting his distant gaze, Wei Yang's vision meticulously scanned the cliff edge ensuring no danger lurked nearby. Only then did he peer over, studying the rugged cliff face below.

Amid the jagged cliffs, protruding stone blocks, chaotically growing warped trees, and some bones lay scattered.

Wei Yang's gaze subtly swept over these cliff faces.

Quickly, his attention fixed on a section of the mountain wall, concealed by horizontal trees.

Though, at first glance, the warped trees on the cliff seemed no different compared to other sections, Wei Yang's readiness enabled him to discern subtle differences.

Squinting slightly and aided by the slanting sunlight, Wei Yang could glimpse, between the gaps of the trees, a dark hole on the cliff face.

"This should be it, finally found it!" Wei Yang rejoiced inwardly.
