Capítulo 2: Chapter 2

Usually, children from such families are more likely to be absorbed by the church because they lack love the most.

And as the Benevolent Heavenly Lord, Randy was best at sharing love.

The commotion next door hadn't stopped.

Margaret's voice was stern and devoid of any warmth: "Go to the confessional! Confess to God for all that you've done today, and pray for His forgiveness! Go now!"

Randy also heard Carrie's terrified plea for help, but after the sound of a heavy door slam, everything returned to silence.

If it weren't for the visible cross hanging high in the Whites' house, Randy would have thought they were worshipping some kind of cult.

Soon, Margaret's figure appeared at the window, holding a plate as she dumped all the food into the trash.

And as sharp as ever, she seemed to sense something, cautiously and disdainfully glancing in Randy's direction.

However, Randy had already turned off the living room lights, quietly hiding in the shadows.

Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, Margaret sighed in relief and drew the curtains.

With the Whites' commotion coming to an end, Randy reflected on the intriguing nature of this family.

"An interesting family," he thought. "The background and the name Carrie seem vaguely familiar."

"Never mind, there's no need to dwell on this. I need to focus on what's important."

Randy took out the lotus seeds, inspected them one by one, and confirmed that he hadn't bought any fakes.

"As long as they're lotus seeds, that's fine. Now, it's time for the enchantment."

Randy went upstairs to the bathroom.

On the floor were inscriptions made of fresh blood, and candles were arranged at various points, surrounding the bathtub at the far end.

The bathtub contained a mixture of black and red water, which, in addition to ordinary potion, was also mixed with Randy's own blood.

Over the past few days, Randy had been using magic to continuously draw and replenish his blood, going through an especially grueling week.

"Please don't let me down."

Randy threw all the lotus seeds into the bathtub, and they quickly disappeared into the dark red liquid.

Then the water started bubbling continuously, and a dazzling light flashed.

"It worked!"

Randy was overjoyed, quickly rubbing his eyes and making sniffling sounds.

As he cried, the water in the bathtub surged, and a somewhat blurry woman with long hair emerged, like a holographic projection, flickering and unstable.

The woman looked around the environment in confusion, and when she saw the water surface below her, her frown deepened.

But she raised her head and recited her lines.

"Traveler passing by, why are you crying?"

"Because my lotus seeds fell into the river."

"In the river?"

The River Goddess looked at the bathtub below her, her frown tightening.

"Conditions are limited."

Randy helplessly waved his hand. The bathtub was the largest water container he had at home.

"Well, the river…"

At least it was better than the Han River, which contains no Viagra.

The River Goddess opened her hands, and three bubbles appeared in front of her.

From left to right, they were a multicolored seed emitting red light, a seed wrapped in purple light, and a pile of ordinary seeds.

Randy's eyes narrowed.

Unexpectedly, his luck was exceptional, and he got a mythic-quality red seed on the first try. Is this a newbie bonus?

"Traveler, did you fall into the river with this colorful lotus seed, or this true lotus seed, or this pile of ordinary lotus seeds that might not even bloom?"

"I fell into the river with this pile of ordinary lotus seeds that might not even bloom."

Randy quickly said this, word for word, as if copying and pasting.

The River Goddess smiled and nodded.

"You're still an honest child. Alright, all three seeds are yours."

The three bubbles floated away from the River Goddess and slowly moved to Randy.

"Thank you, River Goddess!"

Even Randy Xue couldn't hide his excitement.

"Hmm, summon me to a different place next time."

The River Goddess twirled and vanished back into the water.

The dark red bathtub returned to its clear state, though the three bubbles remained.

"Colorful Lotus, True Lotus, Waste Lotus."

These correspond to mythic quality, epic quality, and worthless respectively.

He hadn't expected such high quality on the first attempt.

Unfortunately, Randy couldn't use such high-quality seeds right now. If he had grown the Colorful Lotus, it would likely have become sentient immediately and consumed him.

However, the epic-quality True Lotus was just right—it could completely transform his current self.

The ability to summon the River Goddess was something Randy awakened two months before his previous life's ascension.

He mobilized all his followers to offer incense to the River Goddess, effectively bringing this mythical figure into existence.

It was the River Goddess from the story of the golden and silver axes.

This was also the strongest ability of the outer way—manifesting belief. As long as the followers believed in the existence of what they worshiped, Randy could manifest it through their faith.

Belief brings existence, disbelief brings death.

It could also be called human-made divinity!

The River Goddess was the only conceptual deity Randy had summoned.

Only orderly deities could be deceived this way. Other gods, like the Old Lord or the Monkey King, wouldn't listen, and even the collective faith of believers worldwide might not be enough to summon them.

Not only did he summon the River Goddess, but he also used brainwashing techniques on his followers to learn how to reshape the lotus root like Nezha.

During those two months, Randy used the River Goddess's ability to summon her once a week, which allowed him to elevate his concocted waste potion to a golden legendary quality.

Then, after swallowing the legendary potion, he intended to use the followers' faith to ascend.

However...

The followers didn't believe he could become a god! Or rather, there were too many who didn't believe in his ascension!

Thinking about this made Randy lose control of his emotions.

"Forget it, focus on getting things done now."

Randy first wrapped the Colorful Lotus seeds and stored them in the safe.

Mythic-quality seeds could root and sprout even if cooked or swallowed, so there was no need to worry about improper storage.

The recently purchased lotus seeds were packed away again.

"Damn merchant sold me seeds that won't bloom, and charged me sixty dollars! I'll be asking for a refund and filing a complaint!"

Randy then opened the True Lotus seeds and buried them in a pre-prepared ceramic jar.

The jar was about the size of a human head and contained plenty of nutrients, various precious herbal residues, and magical potions.

These were all essence with strong ripening effects.

Randy then took out the freshly stored blood from the refrigerator.

This blood had been accumulated bit by bit over seven days, meticulously refined by Randy.

It exhausted the last bit of vitality from his body, draining its remaining value.

It was great nourishment for people, animals, or plants!

This was also crucial for reshaping his body, and it had to be his own blood—no shortcuts allowed.

"Hoping the lotus blooms as vigorously as possible, so my investment pays off."

The blood was poured into the jar and immediately absorbed.

The small jar seemed like a bottomless pit as Randy poured all the prepared two large bags of blood until it was enough.

He then sealed the jar.

"Next, find a place with ample water, bury it, and wait seventy-four days, or two weeks, for it to mature."

This was a method Randy had never used before, but with his knowledge, it shouldn't go wrong.

"Although, it would be even better if more nutrients could be added midway."

Randy remembered there was a cemetery near his home, but the only recent deceased in the small town were the lord's parents...

"Forget it, there's no need to rush."

The effect of the corpse wasn't significant enough; ripening it a day or two earlier wouldn't make much difference.
