Lyse was stunned. They had dropped James off at work on their way and then come straight to this apartment building. When Joel opened the front door to one of the apartments, it was a far cry from the modest dwellings she was accustomed to.

It was a luxurious haven, a testament to Levi's wealth and power. The sleek, modern design, the breathtaking views of the city, and the opulent furnishings were all beyond her wildest dreams.

But despite the grandeur of her surroundings, Lyse felt a growing sense of unease. She felt out of place and yearned for the simplicity of her own apartment, the warmth of human connection. Here, in this cold, sterile environment, she felt isolated and alone.

As she was lost in thought, Joel, her new bodyguard who made her feel awkward because why did she need a body guard approached her. "Ms Lyse, I hope that you find this place to your liking. Mr Van Doren has spared no expense."
