"How long have you been with the Void God Cult?"
"How many times have you evolved, and what's your direction of evolution?"
Lix heard the woman, who looked as fragile as a small bird and questioned her sternly.
"I haven't joined the Void God Cult yet..."
Feeling the overwhelming aura from Lix, Sara replied in a small voice.
"Then how did you become the recorder and live in the temple?"
Lix paused, clearly confused by her response.
"Let me explain," Kael interjected, unable to bear seeing Sara so intimidated by Lix's pressure. "Sara was personally brought here by Miss Sonia. She's indeed an ordinary person, but she's the official recorder and lives in the temple for that role. And ease up a bit, you're scaring her."
"Miss Sonia brought her here?" Lix's expression softened slightly upon hearing this. He then turned his gaze to the other woman besides Sara. "And what about her? Did Miss Sonia bring her too?"
"No, Lalatina was brought here by Tony Stark. She's his secretary," Kael explained as he noticed Lix's demeanor relaxing.
"Tony Stark? The inventor?" Lix asked, recognizing the name.
"Exactly," Kael confirmed.
"So that means Tony Stark is on the island right now?" Lix glanced at Lalatina before turning back to Kael.
"Yeah, it seems he's not planning on going back to his home this year. At least, he hasn't mentioned anything about leaving," Kael responded after a moment's thought.
"Alright, we'll come back to Tony Stark later. Sara, is that your name?" Lix's previously harsh tone had softened considerably as he addressed Sara directly.
"Yes, Lord Lix. That's correct. Nice to meet you," Sara replied politely, noticing how Lix's attitude had shifted after learning she was brought by Miss Sonia.
"Could you tell me about the changes on the island over the past year? And what exactly does your job as recorder entail?" Lix asked, now much more composed.
"Lix, if you want a full update on the island, why don't you come to have breakfast with me? We can talk while we eat," Kael suggested.
"I'm fine with that, as long as they come too," Lix said, glancing at Sara and Lalatina.
"Do I have to go?" Sara asked hesitantly, clearly uncomfortable with the idea of spending more time with Lix. "I have work later…"
"Sara, it's okay. I'll make sure you get back to the temple on time. Plus, this will help you get to know him better," Kael reassured her, knowing that refusing Lix wasn't an option.
"Alright…" Sara sighed, realizing there was no easy way out of this.
"Let's return the car first," Lalatina suggested, also feeling somewhat nervous about being in Lix's presence. However, she could tell he had become more respectful towards her after learning she worked for Tony Stark.
As the four of them began walking together, Lix turned to Kael with more questions. "So, what's been happening on the island over the past year? And tell me more about this 'recorder temple'."
"The Recorder Temple was built on the orders of Lord Kassadin, though Miss Sonia is the one who personally brought Sara here," Kael explained. "As for what the recorder does, it's pretty simple: she keeps records. Whenever someone leaves the island or returns from another planet, they notify her."
"Notify her?" Lix frowned, clearly puzzled.
"Lord Lix, I need to clarify something," Sara interrupted, sensing that Lix might misunderstand. "It's not a mandatory report; it's just a notification to keep track of movements. Please don't think it's anything forceful."
"It's the same thing," Lix brushed off the distinction. "In any case, Lix, whenever you come to the island or plan to leave Xandar, it's best to inform Sara. It helps keep everything organized," Kael said.
"Understood," Lix agreed, still somewhat skeptical of why an ordinary person like Sara was doing this job. However, since Lord Kassadin had established the position, he trusted it had a purpose.
"As for other developments on the island, let me think about how best to explain," Kael mused, knowing that Lix, who spent most of his time off-world, needed a proper update to catch up.
Soon, the group reached the temple where Sara worked.
"This is where you work?" Lix asked as he looked around. "It's clear that the great Lord Kassadin places a lot of importance on this position."
He turned to Sara, smiling now. "As a recorder and an ordinary person, I imagine you'll face some challenges. But don't worry, if you ever need help, you can come to me."
Sara was taken aback by Lix's sudden shift in attitude. Feeling the weight of his approval and friendliness, she could only manage to mutter a soft "Thank you…" in response.
