Capítulo 9: A Curious Mind

Rudra sat quietly in the corner of his room, the soft hum of a fan the only noise breaking the silence. His eyes were fixed on the small device in his hand—the smartphone Rohan had provided. The more he explored it, the more it fascinated him. It was a window to the entire world, all of humanity's knowledge at his fingertips.

The screen glowed faintly in the dim light as Rudra navigated through various social media platforms and websites. He was observing the modern world in real-time, learning not only about himself but also about how history and mythology had evolved long after his time.

He scrolled through countless videos and posts, observing how the people of this age interacted with each other. The platforms revealed a strange new world where people lived behind digital avatars, speaking through screens and portraying lives they wanted others to see. Yet, beneath the surface, Rudra saw something familiar—human desires, ambitions, fears, and a need to understand the forces that governed them.

What caught his attention the most, however, were the endless myths and stories surrounding the figures from his time. He found entire communities dedicated to discussing the Ramayana, analyzing every detail of his life, his downfall, and his legacy. His battles, his wisdom, his perceived arrogance—all were discussed in length, interpreted in ways that sometimes amused him, and other times left him curious.

"They still debate my motives," Rudra murmured to himself, scrolling through a forum where users discussed the true nature of Ravana. Some viewed him as an evil force driven by power and pride, while others saw him as a misunderstood scholar and a king of unmatched strength who simply walked a different path.

Rudra paused, reading one particular post with interest. It argued that Ravana was not purely a villain but a necessary force to challenge the order established by the gods, one who understood the fine balance between chaos and creation.

"A force of balance," Rudra whispered thoughtfully. "They are closer to the truth than they realize."

His thoughts shifted, moving beyond the Ramayana and his own story. He was eager to learn more about the ages that followed his time. His fingers hovered over the search bar before typing in the name of the next great epoch—the Dwaparyuga.

Rudra found himself immersed in stories of the Mahabharata, a text he knew only through fragments passed down in his time. Now, with the modern world's interpretation at his disposal, he discovered tales of Krishna, the Pandavas, and the infamous Kurukshetra War. He admired how the ancient wisdom of Krishna had guided the events of Dwaparyuga, noting the complexity of the strategies employed in the great war.

"Krishna," Rudra muttered, intrigued by the parallels between his role in the Ramayana and Krishna's role in the Mahabharata. Though their purposes had been different, both had influenced the fate of humanity and the gods. Krishna had been both divine and strategic, a tactician who understood the world's pulse just as well as any king.

As he scrolled through articles and videos, Rudra saw how Dwaparyuga had introduced a new era of gods, demons, and heroes. The stories of Bhima's strength, Arjuna's prowess, and Yudhishthira's adherence to dharma all painted a vivid picture of a time where righteousness and duty were paramount. But what fascinated Rudra most was the concept of karma and destiny in the Mahabharata, how even the gods themselves could not escape the flow of time and fate.

Rudra's curiosity deepened. He pondered how much the world had evolved since his time—new philosophies, new interpretations of old truths. The principles of dharma, karma, and the cosmic balance remained, but their expressions had transformed. Modern scholars debated not only the literal meanings of the epics but also their metaphorical significance. He found articles that analyzed these ancient texts through the lens of psychology, philosophy, and even quantum physics.

"So much knowledge," he whispered, awed by the layers of meaning humans had uncovered and created.

Rudra then turned his attention to something that had caught his eye earlier—a collection of articles on ancient technology and lost sciences. He smiled faintly, recognizing some theories that echoed the knowledge from his own time. People debated whether civilizations like his had access to advanced technologies, far beyond what modern society believed possible. Theories about Vimanas, ancient aircraft mentioned in Sanskrit texts, and mysterious weapons like the Brahmastra fascinated the modern world.

"They seek the truth, but it is still hidden," Rudra thought. He recalled the power of the Vedic sciences, the ancient texts that detailed technology and knowledge far ahead of its time. His mind wandered to the lost cities, the hidden temples, and the knowledge that had been buried along with them. "They have forgotten more than they realize."

His thoughts were interrupted by a notification on the phone. It was from Rohan, who had sent a few more documents and a list of recommended books. Rudra opened the files and scanned them quickly. They were filled with more interpretations of his life, ranging from academic works to modern fiction. Each one painted a different picture of him, and he found himself smiling again at the varying depictions—some glorified, others vilified.

Among these files was something unexpected—a list of upcoming religious festivals. The dates of the grand celebrations, including Dussehra, were marked. Rudra read the descriptions of how these festivals were celebrated across India and beyond. The rituals had changed over time, evolving into grand spectacles, but their essence remained the same.

He thought back to the effigy-burning ritual, which symbolized the destruction of evil. It was fascinating to him that in the grand narrative of cosmic cycles, even the simplest of rituals persisted, maintaining their symbolic power.

But Rudra's thoughts were never far from strategy. He knew that these festivals and rituals provided a unique opportunity to understand the modern world's psyche. These gatherings of people, their energies, and their beliefs would reveal much about how the world had evolved spiritually.

"I must see it with my own eyes," he decided. "I must observe the people, feel the pulse of their beliefs, and understand their faith."

Far away, Mahish and Surasa, still in their human forms, continued their search. Their businesses and networks had grown to encompass all parts of the world, and now, they were using every tool at their disposal to find the one they believed would change the course of history.

Mahish leaned back in his office chair, watching the screens in front of him display a web of information—global transactions, movements, signals. "We will find him," he said calmly. "He cannot hide from us for long. His power will reveal him."

Surasa, who had been pacing the room, stopped to glance at Mahish. "It's only a matter of time. He will rise, and when he does, we will be there."

In the shadows of modern society, these ancient beings had woven themselves into the fabric of human civilization. They had vast wealth, influence, and power. But now, their focus was singular—finding Ravana, the one who could change everything.

Meanwhile, Rudra had finally finished reading the last of the articles Rohan had sent. He stood up from the small chair, stretching slightly. The room felt confined, and he longed for the open sky, the rivers, the places of power where the energies of the earth were strongest. His curiosity about this new world was boundless, but he knew that learning was only the first step.

Rudra looked out of the window at the ancient city of Kashi. "This world is different," he murmured. "But it is still driven by the same forces—ambition, fear, hope, and the search for meaning."

He would embrace the knowledge of this new era, but he would also carve his own path. As the world debated his legacy, he would decide his future. His time of preparation was coming to an end, and soon, the next phase of his journey would begin.
