Capítulo 2: Chapter 1

Marvel Universe, Non-Sacred Timeline

In the Big Apple, Hell's Kitchen, there was a small seven-story apartment building facing the street. The first floor had been converted into a restaurant.

Above the wooden door of the restaurant hung a Chinese sign that read, "Good Luck Comes." Beneath the sign, a banner proudly declared, "Business is Booming." Red lanterns with traditional Chinese designs were hung on either side of the door. Under one of the lanterns lay a disfigured brown dog with a red eye patch.

"Ted, is it ready? I'm starving over here," complained a masked man in a red bodysuit and matching eye patch, sprawled lazily across a table.

"Hurry up, hurry up. You don't pay, and you're still so demanding. If you keep nagging, I won't give you any food, Wade," replied a tall, strong Chinese youth with short black hair as he emerged from the kitchen, carrying a tray of dishes.

The young man placed the food in front of the masked man—Deadpool, known in the Marvel Universe for his relentless sense of humor and high hatred value.

Ted then turned to a white-haired youth standing at the bar. "Pietro, bring out the rest of the dishes from the kitchen."

The white-haired youth flashed an "okay" sign with his left hand while adjusting his goggles with his right. In the blink of an eye, he was seated next to Deadpool, pouring Coke into his glass, with four dishes and a soup already laid out on the table.

"Wow, Pietro, your speed is incredible, no matter how many times I see it. If I had your powers, I'd be making twice as many trips to the bank!" Wade said with exaggerated enthusiasm.

"Enough talk, Wade. Wanda's busy today, so let's just eat," Ted said, barely finishing his sentence before Wade and Pietro began devouring the food with gusto.

Watching them eat, Ted's mind started to wander.

Ted, formerly Chen Ye, had been in the Marvel Universe for 23 years, living in Hell's Kitchen. His father died in a gang fight, leaving him this small seven-story apartment building. He had graduated from college a year ago and now ran this restaurant while occasionally working part-time jobs.

He had met Deadpool during one of these jobs and, thanks to his unique system, had offered Wade food and lodging in his apartment.

Yes, the system—standard for time travelers—was essential for surviving in the Marvel Universe, especially in a place like Hell's Kitchen.

Ted had awakened the Friend System. As long as someone acknowledged him as a friend, he could randomly gain rewards from them, including money, attributes, items, or even superpowers. By deepening his friendships, he could unlock even more powerful attributes and extra rewards.

As for Wanda and Pietro, he had rescued them during a mission. Since they had nowhere else to go, he allowed them to stay temporarily, hoping they would help protect the apartment if the Battle of New York ever broke out. After all, losing the building would crush his dream of being a landlord.

Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind:

"Ding,"

"Congratulations to the host, Wade Winston Wilson, for increasing his favorability to three stars!"

"Attribute acquired: Healing Factor."

"Would you like to merge immediately?"

Finally, the healing factor was his. Ted thought to himself that he no longer had to worry about becoming cannon fodder in the Marvel Universe.

"System, I remember that in the original story, Deadpool only adapted to the healing factor because of his cancer. If I merge it, will I die suddenly?"

"No, the system will handle any potential issues. Please do not underestimate its capabilities," the system reassured.

"Then merge immediately."

"Fusion begins!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, Ted felt his body tremble, his cells transforming in strange ways. After a few moments, he slowly opened his eyes.

Wade paused briefly, giving Ted a puzzled look before shrugging and continuing to eat.

Ted felt stronger than ever before.

"System, open the panel."

Ted's brief moment of pride was quickly dashed. He wondered if the Thanos in this universe was the comic version or the movie version. He hoped it was the latter because the comic version was far more terrifying, capable of annihilating the entire universe just to make Death smile.

But it was still early days. He hadn't even cleared Hell's Kitchen yet, and Tony Stark hadn't become Iron Man. Before that happened, Ted needed to make more friends and family—lots of them.

He wanted to be the ultimate Marvel family man!

Unfortunately, he was too afraid of the Ancient One seeing through him as a time traveler to visit Kamar-Taj. He wasn't even sure if this Ancient One was a bald man or a bald woman.

If that plan didn't work out, he could always seek out Miss America or Cable. With the power to travel through parallel dimensions, he could make friends across the multiverse. One day, he'd be able to punch the God of Stories Loki, step on Thanos, and make Death kneel and sing "Conquer."

Wade, now full, interrupted Ted's thoughts. With a toothpick in his left hand and his right hand on his stomach, he said, "There's a big job coming up. How about it? Want to team up, Ted?"

"How big? What kind of job? You know I'm picky about the jobs I take," Ted replied, a bit annoyed.

"It's not a hit job. This time, it's a rescue mission," Wade continued.

"Sometimes, Ted, I think you're a real weirdo. Every time you point a gun at a thug and ask if he's a good friend, you kill him right after asking. You know, a lot of non-American mercenaries think you're a racist, saying that you, a Chinese guy, are discriminating."

Ted rolled his eyes. "Please, I'm just purifying the world. Those guys do nothing but steal and harass innocent girls every day. As their 'good friend,' I'm just sending them to heaven a little early. It's called helping others."

"Fifty million U.S. dollars," Wade said, holding up five fingers dramatically.

Ted was stunned. The biggest job he'd ever taken paid five million—not even close to this amount.

If Wade hadn't said it was a rescue mission, Ted would've thought it was a hit on the president.

"Who's the target?" Ted asked, his expression turning serious. This mission sounded anything but simple.

Wade pointed to the TV, where a news report was playing:

"The world-renowned industrialist, playboy, and billionaire Tony Stark is missing. According to preliminary reports, Stark disappeared during a private trip, causing Stark Industries' stock price to plummet."

"It's that murderer Tony Stark. I'm not taking this job. He deserves to die—arms dealer," Pietro suddenly stood up, his voice filled with anger.
