As the shadows moved closer, a gut-wrenching chill settled over me. My instincts screamed danger, something dark and unnatural was closing in on us. Without wasting a second, I linked my Beta, Lewis and Gamma, Martin, sending a clear order to initiate pack lockdown. There was no time for delay. My heart raced, not just because of the threat, but because Leslie and our unborn children were in the pack house, vulnerable to whatever darkness was approaching.

"Lock down the pack! Now! Get the pups and elders to safety. We've got incoming!" I growled through the mind-link. Lewis and Martin responded immediately, their auras snapping into action, spreading the word across the entire pack like wildfire. I felt the energy shift as protective barriers rose, warriors readying themselves.
