Capítulo 43: 43. Never see the girl

Alex was working on his laptop when his suddenly started vibrating beside. It caused a crease between his brows, and his first instinct was to decline, but his fingers halted upon seeing the ID. He quickly placed the laptop aside, picking up the phone in his hand.

He wondered what could have made her call him so late because he knew she was dead serious about avoiding any communication with him unless necessary. Sliding his thumb on the receive button, "Sweetheart,"he called but heard her uneven breaths and his bad feeling he felt seemed to have confirmed suspicion. "Is everything alright?" He asked, already going to get his coat.

When her small shaky voice came on the phone, his grip on it tightened.

"Please help," she whispered as if afraid to be heard, and Alex quickened his steps. He took the elevator to the ground floor. "Please hurry," she pleaded, causing his free hand to clench into a tight fist.
