Capítulo 66: Embers of hope

"What the hell Milo!"

"Hey, it wasn't my fault! She just fell over."

Milt flipped her over, only to see that she was out cold.

"The hell! Was she standing there unconscious this whole time?"

Aria's eyes widened as she realized it too, and they exchanged a look of shared alarm.

"What do we do now?"

Milo didn't respond, his gaze fixed on the unconscious Linn. He groaned silently and without a word, he lifted her onto his shoulder, moving with as much care as he could manage. Slowly, he rose to his full height, bearing her weight while keeping his movements controlled to avoid drawing the beast's attention. 

"Can you run with her on your shoulder like that?"

"Do you want me to take her with us, or not?"

"Yeah, of course I do."

"Then shut up and get ready to run"

"Fine, I get it. No need to get all moody."

Aria's annoyance simmered, but she held it in, biting back her frustration at his tone.
