Capítulo 13: Chapter 13: Gold Bars in Hand!

As Sophia's expression grew increasingly panicked, Logan's initial suspicion turned into certainty. He now knew with absolute confidence that she was involved.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, four security guards dead and over twenty million dollars lost by the bank. I wonder how many years the informant will get," Logan taunted, watching Sophia's face turn ashen.

With a malicious grin, Logan turned and walked away.

No wonder there hadn't been a bank robbery in his past life. It must have been the butterfly effect from his decision to buy gold bars this time around.

Mark Bennett's face turned red with anger as he shouted after Logan, "Stop right there!"

But Logan didn't stop and kept walking out.

Mark grabbed Sophia by the arm, nearly shaking with rage. "What the hell is going on?!"

He had only come to negotiate because it wasn't entirely the bank's fault. But now, hearing that the robbers were tipped off by one of their own employees?

There was no point in negotiating anymore!

"It wasn't me!!" Sophia screamed in desperation.

But Mark knew better. Seeing her guilty, flustered expression, he realized that Logan's claim about the leak had to be true.

With Logan now in contact with the media, Mark knew he had to resolve this issue before it went public.

He left without another glance at Sophia, who collapsed to the floor, muttering repeatedly, "It wasn't me, it wasn't me..."

The truth was, the night before, after receiving Logan's call about purchasing $25 million worth of gold, Sophia had been thrilled. Over dinner with her boyfriend, she had boasted about the big transaction.

She had bragged before about large deposits, though she had never mentioned clients' names. She hadn't thought this would count as leaking customer information. But somehow, it had reached the ears of the robbers who had been sitting in the booth behind hers.

When you walk in the dark long enough, you're bound to run into trouble.

By the time Logan left the police station, it was already evening.

He found his car and drove to the warehouse he had rented.

Not long after, Logan received several more phone calls. This time, they were from advertisers looking to collaborate.

Curious, Logan opened his phone and discovered that he had become famous.

Messages flooded in from university classmates, high school friends, and even elementary school acquaintances. He cleared them all out.

Logan had no desire for fame.

If he hadn't known that the apocalypse was just three months away, he might have taken advantage of the attention to make some quick money through short videos and advertising.

But with the end of the world fast approaching, he had no time for such distractions.

Today's internet users were too resourceful; if they dug up any dirt on him, it could spell trouble.

After quickly tidying up the small room in the warehouse and eating some bread stored in his space, Logan went to bed. Exhausted from the day's mental chess game, he fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

The next morning, Logan woke up feeling refreshed.

After his morning workout and breakfast, Logan received a call from the bank.

"Mr. Logan, your gold transaction from yesterday is still incomplete. When would you like to come pick up your gold bars?"

Logan raised an eyebrow. That was fast.

He had thought he might have to leverage Sophia's slip-up and his newfound fame to pressure the bank into completing the interrupted transaction. But it seemed the bank was moving quickly.

"Thirty minutes," Logan replied.

After finishing his breakfast, Logan headed to the bank.

He expected a bit of a struggle but was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly everything went.

The bank manager himself greeted Logan, offering a sincere apology and personally handing over the gold bars.

The bank even threw in some extra gifts, calling them compensation for the mental stress he had endured. Logan reciprocated by agreeing to a photo with the staff, holding the gold bars as they took a group picture.

As Logan left, the bank staff and security personnel helped him load the gold into his car, waving him off with smiles until his vehicle was out of sight.

Naturally, this scene was caught on camera by reporters who had been keeping an eye on the bank.

Photos of the event quickly made their way to news websites, where netizens praised the bank's excellent customer service.

But Logan was no longer concerned with any of that.

Originally, he had planned to go through with the interview, expose the vice president's threats, and Sophia's leak. But now that he'd achieved his goal in record time, he could skip these trivial matters.

With the end of the world looming, there was no point wasting time on people who wouldn't be around in three months.

Logan's attention was fully on the gold bars now.

In the small, roughly 10-square-meter storage room, neatly stacked on the bed, were two piles of gleaming gold bars.

One pile was the gold he had just picked up from the bank, and the other was the gold he had taken from the robbers the day before.

There were also three smaller bars left from his previous stash.

A total of fifty million in gold!

The thought of possibly doubling that to one hundred million made Logan's heart race with excitement!

It wasn't practical to physically hold all 120 kilograms of gold in his hands this time.

He placed both hands on the piles of gold bars.

"Duplicate items."

As soon as the words left his mouth, the small storage room was flooded with brilliant golden light.

Gold bars began to materialize in midair in front of Logan, thudding onto the bed with a steady rhythm.

The iron bed creaked under the weight, clearly struggling to support the load.

But Logan didn't care if he'd have to sleep on the floor tonight.

He counted them—123 bars in total, 120 of them weighing 1 kilogram each, and three at 500 grams. Not a single bar was missing.

Logan exhaled in relief before a smile of pure joy spread across his face.

Turning 25 million into 100 million in just two days would make anyone ecstatic.

Initially, Logan hadn't been certain it would work. He had worried about potential limitations—what if the cornucopia had a duplication limit, or what if it could only copy items he physically touched, or some other unknown restriction that could lead to failure?

But it seemed he'd been overly cautious.

The item duplication ability was even more powerful than he'd imagined.

The interface of the cornucopia had also changed.

[Cornucopia]

[Function: Storage Space 6*6*6]

[Upgrade cost: 2000 wealth points]

[Function: Item Duplication 1]

[Upgrade cost: 10000 wealth points]

Item duplication had only one use left.

Logan wondered if upgrading it would increase the number of duplications.

First, he sorted through the gold bars.

Each bar from the bank was marked with a serial number.

He separated the 60 duplicated bars from the original ones taken from the bank and set them aside.

These would be sold back to the bank.

The other 63 duplicated bars were placed in another pile.

These could be melted down and sold through other channels.

Logan picked up two original 1-kilogram gold bars and mentally commanded:

"Upgrade space!"
