With that, the System vanished, leaving only the silence of Amara's room. Elara blinked, rubbing her eyes, and then frowned. She'd been under the impression they were still at Lyselle Media, but this... this was unmistakable. She was in Amara's bedroom, with all its familiar warmth.

"Uh... when did we get here?" she asked, looking over at Amara.

Amara shrugged. "No idea."

[We got here while I was sealing up the security breach in your head,] the System's voice said. [Sorry for the confusion. It was the most convenient place to dump you two until I could get the situation under control.]

Elara blinked, her thoughts still reeling from their Excellent Adventure. "Wait... you were fighting the shadows and Eirik?"

[Oh yeah, I kicked his ass real good,] the System said. [Or, more accurately, I used Amara's body to kick him in the balls, but same difference.]

Elara grimaced. "I can't believe I missed that."
