Sebastian avoided Grace's gaze, his eyes drifting toward the floor. Daniel, however, seized the opportunity to stir up drama. He tilted his head, catching a glimpse of Grace's confused expression.
"I sense confusion in the air," Daniel said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Little bird, he didn't tell you?"
Daniel feigned a surprised expression, covering his mouth with his hand. "Oh my God, Sebastian! Why didn't you tell her that Father offered you a position in his company?" He added a mock chuckle, clearly enjoying the tension.
Grace stood up from the couch, hastily putting on her trousers. Her voice trembled as she struggled to get Sebastian to look at her. "I don't understand, S. You said you weren't going to work there."
"Did he now?" Daniel chimed in, clasping his hands together in mock concentration. "Well, I guess he lied."
Grace's voice rose to a yell. "Sebastian Grande, answer me!" She grabbed his hand, but he dodged her fiery gaze.
