My teeth were biting into my bottom lip as I stood next to the door, listening in on Sylus and Hana. I'd felt Sylus come into our rooms, but he didn't stay. He'd left. He didn't want to be anywhere close to me.
"No," Sylus said to Hana.
"Well, you need to believe it, Mr. Angel. Harley really likes you a lot."
I did, didn't I? Even as little as Hana was, she'd noticed. Would Sylus believe her? I doubt he would because I didn't hear a response from him. His office was suddenly drowning in silence.
"Mr. Angel," Hana mumbled.
"Mhm?"
"Do you have your mummy?"
"My mummy?"
"Yes, your mama. Mum."
There were a few moments of silence before Sylus shook his head at her. I was watching them from the window. "No… I don't."
"Is... is she up in the sky?"
He arched a brow at her. "The sky?"
Hana nodded at him. "My mummy is up there, that's what Harley said."
