I nearly crashed at the sight of the message, my feet pressing hard onto the break. My forehead bumped into the steering wheel, and I grunted in pain, rubbing at the spot and getting out of the car as quickly as possible.
Leo was already approaching me, a worried frown on his face. "Are you okay? You nearly—"
"I'm fine, Leo, I'm fine." I dashed over to the entrance, banging on the door, and it didn't take long before the hurried sound of footsteps approached, the lock of the door clicking open.
Bridget stood disheveled, and I hugged her first without thinking. "Where is she?" I looked over her shoulder and burst into tears at the sight of the little girl who padded towards me on her little feet, a big smile on her face.
"Harley!!!"
"Moonie!!' I scooped her up into my arms, hugging her so tightly I could crush her. "My princess. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I wasn't here. I love you. I love you so much. Harley won't leave you again, okay?"
