Capítulo 18: HARLEY: In Debt

Sylus held my gaze. 

He didn't say a word, but his eyes were running over me, his stare intent. There was a slight tilt to his head as if he were asking and answering questions himself that never left his light, pink lips. In the depth of those stern eyes, something else, like a burning inferno built up, and something in me wanted to take a step back for a second. But I wouldn't, I would never, not because of Sylus Jones.  

He could intimidate me all he wants to get what he wants, but I would never change my mind. My lungs burned, and I realized I'd been holding my breath while keeping up with that unbreaking eye contact.  

"Keep staring at me like that, and I might think you want to kiss me. Do you, Mr. Jones?" Fuck. My heart was pounding like a drum. Could he hear? 

"Keep quiet," he growled at me instead. "I'm thinking."  

I peered at him and couldn't form a sentence. All I could do was arch a brow and shrug. "Take your time. I'll be right here."
