Capítulo 295: Existential Questions.
'Was 'Adam' involved in any of this?'
'Did he direct this as a part of a play to gain something more out of it?'
'Let's look at it from the structure of a story from the point of view of Harry Potter and his two friends then…'
'The trio of protagonists came across a horrifying incident during the summer world cup.'
'This gave them a hint that you-know-who was planning something big for this year.'
'Then on the last mission, in which Hermione took part with her colleagues she came across a demon, the demon of wishes to be precise.'
'If this case was connected in the larger picture, it has to be connected to it in some way.'
'....connections…'
'Something that wasn't solved in this case but alludes to a larger more secret matter.'
Loki frowned as he thought about it, but after a few seconds, his mind spat back a simple answer.
'The souls of the people that were taken hostage(?) and died(?)...'
'If I'm right, something happened with those souls that we don't know about yet, but will learn about in the future.'
'So in the larger picture, you-know-who is planning something by stealing several souls for the future?'
'During the freak accident at the World Cup Camp, the accident involved 'Rebirth'... the current era is the era of 'Rebirth.''
'And Harry has just become a Beyonder so he probably has access to this same information too.'
'In that case 'Adam' wants to foreshadow you-know-who's rebirth?'
'So he's trying to perform a ritual to be reborn in a new body?'
'And this ritual involves the missing souls of these people somehow?'
Loki frowned as he connected these dots.
But then his frown turned deeper.
'This doesn't answer the main question I had however.'
'Why was I feeling compulsion to take part in the 'act' or the 'play' that 'Adam' had likely set up?'
'He hasn't used his abilities to infect me until today.'
'So what changed?'
'Why did he decide to affect me all of a sudden and drag me into his play?'
'....That doesn't make much sense does it?'
'If he could've done it before why didn't he just use me in that way in the first or the second or even the third year?'
'In the first year, he could've simply compelled me to join Harry on his adventure in the protection of the philosopher's stone.'
'But he used the roundabout way of getting Mione's sick to get me involved. I even checked using divination above the Sefirah Castle and I was free from being compelled.'
'In the second year, he didn't even know that I'd hijacked his story as Gehrman Sparrow.'
'And in the third year, I played along with his setting with Sirius without raising any alarms by giving him something much larger to think about.'
'What's so different about me that he can suddenly start affecting me from this year?'
'Did whatever was helping me stop helping me all of a sudden?'
'Was Salazar helping me by concealing me from his effects? And then stopped when I woke him up?'
'No…that doesn't make much sense now does it.'
'For that to work there should've been something interesting about the original inhabitant of this body so that Salazar would've actually been interested in shielding it and protecting it until he was awoken.'
'.....how did I come to this world in the first place?'
'Was it simply a miracle? An effect of the Celestial Worthy Of Heaven and Earth ritual?'
'....no….that seems too convenient.'
'There's something missing here that I don't understand very well…'
Loki paused his thoughts for a second as he pulled out the Ring of Harvest to perform another divination.
"Why did 'Adam's' plot suddenly start influencing me?"
Loki repeated the question seven times before using cogitation to lean back into his chair and fall into a half-sleep state as his astral body traversed the spirit world.
Loki's vision swam around in a flurry of colours before they landed on a rather simple picture that suddenly caused him to understand where everything had gone wrong.
The picture was of a wanted poster from the Aurora Order that he had already seen before.
It was a wanted poster claiming Gehrman Sparrow's head.
'Damn!!!'
'I forgot about this!!!!'
'Gehrman Sparrow!!!!'
'That's my alter identity!!!!'
'Did I subconsciously develop the personality within me enough that 'Adam's plot is affecting me because of his plans for Gehrman Sparrow?'
'God damn!!!!!'
A string of cursing and knocking his head on the table later, Loki finally calmed down.
'Fine…I guess I have to deal with this somehow…'
'It isn't really a bad thing since the compulsion isn't very strong right now. That means that the personality hasn't fully melded with me.'
'And given such a loose connection I can even constantly keep track of 'Adam's' plans regarding the main trio that he wants to keep affecting.'
Loki was nervous about this newfound connection he had inadvertently gained with an Angel. But Loki pushed it to the back of his mind.
Instead of leaving the Sefirah Castle, however, Loki raised his hand and pulled out the Ring of Harvest only to shake it a bit. "Spit out what you ate!" he commanded.
With a *whine* the ring of harvest spat out the corpse of the demon that was 'sacrificed' to it.
The real reason Loki had consumed the corpse of the demon was not to satiate the ring as he had claimed but to take ownership of the Mystical Item that the Demon of Wishes was using to fulfil everyone's wishes.
Loki carefully split apart the corpse and began to dissect it until he reached the mystical item of great value according to his intuition.
It was a golden sun-dial-like object with several intricate markings on it. There was an aura of illusory holy charm radiating off of it, with a certain weight to it that made it feel like a godly or divine charm was in Loki's hands.
There was a small circular hole in the centre of the dial, but it didn't allow Loki to see through the object, instead, it was glowing a slight red.
'Is it glowing red because it isn't 'charged' with wishes?'
'So if I fulfil stronger wishes with it, I can make my own wish?'
Loki frowned, he could already feel just how complicated this item made things for him.
'Why did the demon have this item in the first place?'
'Does 'She' have control over the Fool pathway also? Like with the Door pathway?'
Loki's frown deepened, 'Then why hasn't she created the perfect Beyonder of this pathway who would be a slave to her?'
'I mean the abilities of the pathway are ridiculous and she'd probably be able to do too many ridiculous things with it, why did she just give it to the demons?'
'....but how do I fulfil wishes?'
'Do I set up a wish-fulfilling stall like my divination stall from last year?'
'I doubt that the coincidence of me meeting with the Demon of Wishes and setting up a wishing stall won't be lost on other people…'
'Especially of a certain 'Adam' that will probably try his best to involve me somehow if he catches a whiff of the fact that I have access to a literal wishing well.'
'...difficult.'
'Do I disassemble it?'
