The other three looked into the classroom, and they finally understood what Chen Xiao was searching for.
He was searching for bodies... numerous, one stacked atop another, filling the classroom like a disarrayed pile of debris.
Chen Xiao gazed at the mountainous piles of mummified corpses and smiled cheerfully.
Then, he excitedly lunged forward, rummaging through the heap of bodies like a child scavenging for a toy, intermittently emitting a "heh heh heh" laugh.

They explored part of the first and second floors, thus deducing that Xiao Ming feared light and would isolate the orphanage after dark. He was searching for two things, guns and people!

And the bodies of the three remaining people from the last group had not been found.
