Capítulo 51: Cornered

As expected, the police came quickly.

But Lucy became thoughtful when she saw them outside her door through the pinhole.

Because they weren't alone.

The woman and man making a lot of noise were also standing beside the police officers. They looked no different from earlier, but their behavior became obedient and respectful, unlike those who had made such an uproar and scary threats downstairs.

The woman in particular, even shed some tears and wiped them with her sleeves, looking pitiful like a mother who had just lost her child.

Suddenly, a cold chill entered Lucy's heart. She looked back to the living room where the little boy was still sitting on the single-seater sofa, cowering and trying to push himself deeper into the back of it. He looked more miserable now than when she first saw him.

It was as if the monsters finally caught him.
