FINALLY, A smile played across Nanette's face. The duchess looked like she had just won a war she had being fighting for years. 

"In other words. I get to decide who she gets married to." 

"Only if Ozed doesn't come back"

Nanette rolled her eyes at her. "You really believe he would be back?"

"What did you just say?" Luella asked, her voice sounding venomous and angry. The sudden change in her voice stunned all seated there. 

They all knew how obedient Luella was to her mother, so how she confidently spoke back to her sincerely shocked them all.

"Please be careful with your next words."

"Or else what?!" Nanette asked, confidently taunting her. Louisa — her daughter, was a mage. There was no way she would sit by and watch her mother get insulted.
