“You insolent fool!”

The sound of the slap reverberated through the hallways as I watched my mother fall to the ground in pain, her cheeks red and blood gushing out of the corner of her mouth.

I stood behind the pillar, my tiny form hidden behind the structure as I clutched my teddy to my chest, fear holding me in its icy grip as I saw my mother struggling to get back up from the floor.

Behind my father, stood another woman, a blonde woman who was clutching the bedsheets to her chest and hiding behind my father. She had a wicked grin on her face…and was looking down at my mother in disgust as she crawled on her hands and knees.

“Please…Keith…” My mother grabbed onto my father’s legs with both hands, tears streaming down her face as she looked up at my father. “Don’t do this…please…you’re my mate! We have a child…”

“You gave me a bloody daughter!” He spat at her in disgust. “What am I supposed to do with a daughter, you bitch!”
