Capítulo 23: Chapter 23 Meeting The Silvermane Guards

Cocolia looked at the man in front of her. He was a bit taller than her, with a slender build, and leaned against the machinery in the room. His short black hair was neatly styled, and a white streak on his forehead gleamed in the sunlight.

His silver eyes, like a galaxy, and his black coat gave him a mysterious, deep appearance.

From the moment she met him, Cocolia had felt there was something "mysterious" about him. Where was he from? What gave him his power? Why did he show up just when she was about to give up? Was it divine favor, fate, or a trick of a powerful Aeon?

Cocolia was genuinely curious about him. A smile appeared on her face without her realizing it.

Serval watched from the side, noticing the change in her friend.

"Hey, Cocolia," Serval said, leaning on her chin and tapping her face with her fingers, clearly pleased with the changes in her best friend.

Serval, used to being pursued, could sense the difference in her friend. Though she didn't know what Orion was thinking, she felt that with a bit more effort, he might win Cocolia's heart.

Strong and handsome, with the courage and ability to make a difference.

At some unknown moment, Cocolia's feelings shifted.

"I don't mind," Serval shrugged, deciding not to interfere.

"Let's go."

Cocolia could see from his determined eyes that Orion had made up his mind. After saying goodbye to Serval, the two left the Neverwinter Workshop.

The bright sunlight made Orion squint. In Belobog, sunny days were often seen as a sign of good things to come.

"What are your plans?" Cocolia asked, wanting to know Orion's thoughts.

Orion stood in the sunlight, silent. He seemed quieter after leaving the machine room, though he had been like this before.

"I want to visit the Silvermane Guard's base," Orion said as they walked.

"The frontline? You want to go to the frontline?" Cocolia was surprised. She thought someone important like Orion should stay in the rear, like she did.

"To understand our enemy better," Orion replied firmly.

"Okay," Cocolia agreed, though she looked a bit lonely. She then walked ahead of Orion and removed a badge from her chest. Standing on her tiptoes, she placed it on Orion's coat.

The badge was blue with the image of three spears and a strong city wall behind them.

"This badge represents the honor of the Supreme Guardian, meaning you're a trusted assistant," Cocolia explained seriously. "With it, you can officially command most of Belobog's Silvermane Iron Guard and access confidential areas."

Orion hesitated. He knew Cocolia trusted him, but he didn't expect it to be this significant.

With this badge, my status in Belobog is higher than most people, but not as high as one person.

Cocolia touched the badge, and Orion Astra felt a little uncomfortable as he felt her touch on his chest.

"What I achieved is thanks to my predecessors. I believe in Orion Astra," Cocolia said, looking directly at him. "You can turn this honor into something real."

Orion felt a heavy weight of expectation, a feeling he hadn't experienced before. In his past life, he was just an ordinary person with no special status. Now, in this new world, he had the chance to make a difference.

"I'm heading back," Cocolia said quickly before leaving. Orion thought he noticed a hint of shyness in her hurried steps. "Maybe it's just my imagination," he thought, scratching his head. Cocolia was indeed beautiful, and he felt he was more handsome than before.

"Impossible," he said to himself. He shook off his thoughts and headed toward the Silver Mane Iron Guard camp, as Cocolia had directed.

Walking through the streets of Belobog, Orion enjoyed the peace of the city. He knew he might not get another chance to enjoy such calm.

When he arrived at the camp, he saw something surprising. Several Silvermane Guards in blue uniforms formed a circle, holding long spears and standing ready.

In the middle of the circle stood a giant in silver-white ice crystal armor. His spear was much thicker and heavier than the others', and the armor seemed incredibly heavy. Orion thought he wouldn't be able to walk if he wore it.

The soldiers moved and thrust their spears from all directions. The giant, surprisingly agile, dodged the spears gracefully. When he couldn't avoid them, he used his heavy spear to knock the attacking soldiers back.

"There are real experts among the Silvermane Guard," Orion thought. On this planet, fighting against rifts has been going on for centuries. Thick city walls alone couldn't stop the monsters.

Just then, a loud voice came from the center: "Who's watching!?"

Someone's eyes fixed on Orion.
