His steps were steady and confident. Once he reached where she stood, he asked, "Professor Liu Yu, you called for me?" 

Professor Liu Yu, seeing he had arrived, walked down the podium and stopped an arm's distance away from Cheng Yuan.

Where they stood was far from the departing students, meaning she wasn't afraid of someone eavesdropping on their conversation. 

Moving straight to the point, she asked, staring directly into his eyes, "What's happening, Student Cheng Yuan?"
