GREGORY MARKS POV
I arrived home late that evening, my body heavy with the exhaustion of the day, but the moment I stepped through the door, a sense of comfort washed over me. The familiar warmth of home greeted me—soft lighting, the murmur of conversation, and the clinking of silverware. I walked into the dining room and found Laurene and Salome having dinner together, their laughter echoing through the room.
Salome's eyes lit up when she saw me. She got up, gliding over to where I stood, and gently pulled me down to sit beside her. She pressed a light kiss on my temple, her gesture warm and familiar. "You're late," she teased softly, her lips curving into a smile. I smiled back, feeling some of the day's tension melt away.
