Capítulo 51: Chapter 51: Street Boxing**

“How does it taste?”

In the apartment’s dining room, there were several dishes on the table: Brazilian black bean stew, fruit stew, ham shreds, fish head soup, and steamed shrimp.

“Surprisingly delicious, I didn’t expect you to make such good food,” Richard said in amazement as he ate the stew.

“Haha, I know a lot of things, you’ll find out more in the future,” Bundchen said, serving a bowl of soup and placing it in front of him. “Try the stewed salmon. This is my specialty.”

“Great, I’ll finish all of it tonight. Bundchen, try my spicy tofu, a famous Chinese dish. It might not look good, but it tastes wonderful,” Richard said, pointing at a plate of red spicy tofu.

“This is tofu? The tofu I’ve had before was like cheese, in blocks. Why does this look like porridge, all mixed up?” Bundchen asked, puzzled.

“Well… I was worried the seasoning wouldn’t be enough, so I fried it a bit longer, and it all crumbled. It must be the tofu’s fault, yeah, it’s definitely the tofu’s fault,” Richard explained.

“Haha, alright then!” Bundchen laughed, scooping a half spoonful and slowly putting it in her mouth, her long eyelashes fluttering.

“How is it?” Richard asked expectantly.

“Very good, really good,” Bundchen said, blinking and scooping a big spoonful, offering it to him. “Here, dear, you try it too!”

“Alright!” Richard opened his mouth and ate it in one bite. “Ahh, why is it so spicy?”

“Hahaha, you know it’s spicy, right? Quick, drink some fish soup,” Bundchen laughed heartily.

Richard drank a bowl of fish soup, and his tongue gradually regained its feeling. The tofu was spicy, salty, and numbing, with a strange taste.

“Forget it, I’d better not cook anymore,” he said.

“Haha, don’t be discouraged. You have great potential. With more practice, you’ll get better,” Bundchen encouraged.

“We’ll see,” Richard shook his head, deciding never to enter the kitchen again. These hands were meant for punching, not cooking. Cooking required too much finesse.

After tasting everything, Richard began eating heartily.

Bundchen’s portions weren’t large, and he had a big appetite. In the end, everything on the table except the tofu was eaten up.

After dinner, they went for a walk at Times Square.

Times Square, also known as the Crossroads of the World, was located at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue.

At night, the square was crowded with people. From West 42nd to West 47th Street, and several surrounding main roads, there were throngs of peopleâ€"men, women, childrenâ€"totaling tens of thousands of citizens and tourists. There were bands, acrobatics, street dance groups, and mascots performing in the square.

The large screens around the square played various exciting movie trailers and fashion shows, some of which featured Bundchen.

“Look, don’t I look beautiful?” Bundchen asked, pointing at the screen on a building.

“You’re stunning, and so commanding. I’m completely captivated by you, Ms. Bundchen,” Richard said, clutching his chest in admiration.

“Haha, that’s nothing. One day, I’ll dominate these screens,” Bundchen declared, pointing to all the big screens around them.

“You definitely will. I believe in you!” Richard said, wrapping his arm around her waist and kissing her forehead.

“Come on, let’s go over there!” Bundchen said.

“Alright!” Richard agreed.

They held hands and navigated through the crowd like regular tourists, watching over a dozen performances.

“Richard, look, there’s a boxing match over there,” Bundchen pointed to a circle of people in the distance.

“Let’s go check it out!” Richard said, and they squeezed into the crowd. Inside the circle, two people were boxing.

This was another aspect of boxing cultureâ€"street boxing. Some were performance-based, some set up arenas to make money, and some purely for venting.

In the match, there was a nearly two-meter-tall burly white man with a thick build and a big belly. His opponent was a short black man, less than 175 cm, with dark skin and a strong physique.

The burly white man was tall and strong, with seemingly powerful movements, but he was too slow, leaving many openings.

In contrast, the short black man was agile and technically skilled, clearly a professional boxer.

After a few clashes, the short black man suddenly rushed up and landed an uppercut on the burly white man’s chin.

Bang! The burly white man swayed and then fell flat on his back on the mat.

“Anyone else want to try?” the short black man shouted loudly from the ring. “Twenty dollars per match. If you last a round without getting knocked out, you win two hundred dollars. If you beat me, you win a thousand. Anyone dare to challenge?”

The short black man waved a stack of green bills in the air.

“I’ll give it a try!” a strong black man stepped into the ring. This man also seemed to be a boxer, but the short black man quickly knocked him out in less than thirty seconds.

“I’ll go!” Two more people tried, but none lasted a round, all defeated by the short black man.

“He’s really good,” Bundchen praised.

“Hey, darling, look here. The world’s best boxer is right next to you. You can’t praise other boxers in front of me,” Richard said, holding her hand and giving her a kiss.

“Can you beat him?” Bundchen asked.

“Of course, one round is all I need,” Richard said confidently.

“Hey, pretty boy, was it you talking just now?” the short black man looked him up and down, frowning. “You said you could beat me in one round?”

“Yes, I did!” Richard smiled.

“Hahaha, kid, if you’ve got the guts, come down here and prove it. Bragging in front of a woman doesn’t count,” the short black man laughed and beckoned him.

“We’re not in the same weight class. Fighting you would be bullying,” Richard shook his head.

“It doesn’t matter. Street boxing has no weight classes. If you can knock me out, all this money is yours. If you lose…” the short black man glanced at Bundchen and smiled, “how about your girl goes on a date with me?”

“Haha, agree to it!” someone shouted.

“Handsome guy, get in there and fight!” another person yelled.

“Handsome guy, he’s trying to take your girl. Are you a man or not?” the crowd egged him on.

“Do you dare?” the short black man taunted.

“Alright, let’s do it. I said I’d beat you in one round, and I will. If I lose, this money is yours,” Richard said, taking out his wallet and waving it.

“Hey, I said I wanted your girl…”

“Shut up. You don’t even deserve to lick her shoes,” Richard interrupted coldly.

“You’re insulting me?” the short black man growled.

“Yes, I am insulting you,” Richard replied.

“You, pretty boy, get down here if you’ve got the guts!” the short black man roared.

“Wait a minute!” Richard took off his coat, kissed Bundchen, and stepped into the ring.

“Hey, anyone want to place bets?” someone shouted from a sculpture. “Whoever lasts one round, who wins? Place your bets here.”

“The handsome guy looks strong. I bet on him to win!”

“I’m betting on the short black man. The handsome guy looks too pretty, doesn’t seem strong.”

“I’m betting on the short black man too.”

“I’m betting on the handsome guy. His girlfriend is here, I believe in the power of love.”

In a short while, a betting ring formed outside, and the place was buzzing. Many tourists saw the commotion and flocked over.

What started as a match with a few dozen people watching soon attracted six or seven hundred spectators, forming a dense circle.

“Richard, go for it!” Bundchen shouted, clasping her hands.

Richard waved his fists and blew her a kiss.
