The morning sun had barely risen when the maids barged into Ye Jin's room, their chatter jerking her awake.
"Wake up, Ye Jin! We must start immediately!" Vivi exclaimed, pulling back the heavy curtains to let the sunlight flood the room.
Jane was already bustling around with armfuls of fabrics and bottles of scented oils. "The ball is tonight, and we have so much to do!"
Ye Jin groaned softly, sitting up and rubbing her eyes. "Isn't it a bit too early for all this?"
"Too early?" Vivi looked horrified. "It's already five a.m.! You need a proper bath, hair, makeup, and—oh, don't get me started on the gown!"
Before Ye Jin could protest, the maids whisked her away. She found herself in a warm bath infused with all sorts of fragrant oils and flower petals. They scrubbed her skin until it glowed, styled her hair, and meticulously applied makeup—albeit light—but it enhanced her beauty.
