Capítulo 4: An Overpowered Skill From The Start

A figure streaked through the dark expanse with his robes fluttering behind.

If looking closely, one would be able to notice the ground which slowly rose and was moving at a high speed not far from the figure.

Tsk.

"These damn worms," Kael muttered in disdain, leaping sideways just in time. The ground that he once stood exploded with bits of rocks shooting across the ground.

A large body rose from the ground, revealing a vortex of deadly rows of teeth that seemed to suck the particles and everything present into its open mouth.

It had been three days Kael had been wandering in the abyss in search of the layer boss. On his way, he had avoided several beasts, making sure not to engage in any fight until he learnt his ability.

With his high talent, he was able to grasp the basic space and gravity manipulation technique he unlocked from the system.

Having an idea of the space magic, he then began learning the skills the system had granted him. "I guess I can't avoid them any longer. But... I can't help but get excited," he thought, holding his trembling hands with the other one.

"Alright, I'll play with you. Your friends can join the fun," he said, pumping his fists.

SHRIEEEK

The worm with his gaze fixed on him charged forward. Its sharp mouth snapped at the empty space, causing it to stare in confusion.

Kael had utilised the [blink] skill successfully teleporting from his previous spot. Blinking once more, his figure appeared above the beast with his fist clenched together.

[Wormit (Rank: F)]

The Wormit was just an F rank beast with little mobility. Kael was pretty sure he would be able to take out the beasts in three to four strikes. Slamming his clenched fists right on the beasts, his body disappeared once again, appearing just at the side of the beast.

"I can only use it three more times before I get exhausted." He hadn't really received any offensive skill from the space manipulation ability. The gravity manipulation skills he had just started learning.

The Wormit screamed loudly, searching for its prey. Kael was already onto it. Twisting his foot, he exploded forward and, with his clenched fist, delivered a heavy punch underneath its head.

The past owner, during his time at the outer layer, had faced various beasts and had a wide range of knowledge in easily defeating the beast.

Kael didn't move back, shifting his legs with his knees bent slightly he threw an overhead punch, his fist getting covered by a dark, greyish glow.

His hands travelled faster, slamming into the soft flesh of the beast.

SHRIIIIEK!

The beast cried out in pain with blood splashing all over the area. Leaping high, he clenched both fists together, the same dark glow wrapping around them. "Now, for the finishing touch," he muttered.

BOOOOM!

The ground sunk in with the wriggling body of a beast underneath. The body became still after some minutes, signalling its death.

PHEEEW

Kael settled on top of the beast, letting out a steamy breath.

"That urge again, arghh! What the hell is happening?" He thought. His muscles were still tensed as if ready for more action. Indeed, the fight wasn't over as from different positions, the ground rose and the Wormits underneath were all headed towards him.

"That's great," Kael muttered, clenching his fist. Leaping forward, he charged towards the horde of beasts, his eyes shining in excitement.

The ground exploded with five Wormits, baring their teeth at him. They all charged towards him, their killing intents oozing heavily.

BOOOOM

The ground shook with a faint dust rising from the clash. A figure was seen above rapidly descending towards one of the beasts that had a confused expression. Kael had blinked away from the area, causing the beasts to crash onto an empty spot.

'The gravity aura enables me to gain control of the gravity surrounding me.' Clenching his fist, he channelled that energy to the tip and struck down. His fist, now covered in a dark glow, easily pierced through the flesh of the beast and into its head, causing it to crash to the ground.

"With the gravity energy, I'm able to increase the strength of my attack." Leaping towards the other beast this time around, he struck with his legs, sending the beast to crash with another.

Kael's actions were calculative as he aimed to dispatch the beasts quickly before he got exhausted.

He had yet to learn the abyssal energy manipulation, leaving him with just his space and gravity powers. Kael exploded forward and struck with his fist, digging into the fleshy part of the beast head. For some reasons he never did feel nausea or disgusted from the blood and organs, which littered the ground.

"That's two down," he muttered, evading the mouth of one of the Wormit. The Wormit were quite weak due to their large body, which was embedded into the ground. They could only make use of their upper body and deadly teeth to attack.

Sliding across the ground, his hands flashed forward, and once again, blood splashed over the air with the loud thud of a beast crashing to the ground.

Huff~ Huff~ Huff~

"That's three down," he said with heavy breaths. The remaining two were easy pickings, as he easily made quick work on them.

"Ahhh, this feels great." He muttered, exhaling gently. "This was no fun. Are all the beasts this weak within the first layer?"

Ding!

"A new tab? Oh, for my rank. I'm just at the F rank, and I'm this strong already, easily defeating rank F beasts, not just normal beasts, but abyssal beasts!" His powers were truly powerful.

[Of course! As expected of my master body. Too bad you're not able to utilise his skills efficiently]

"Huh?" Kael could surprisingly sense the hint of disdain in the system's words as if he wasn't befitting of the powers. "Hey, I thought you were just some guide or what?"

[Tsk]

"You're a strange one," he muttered, not the least bothered. The system couldn't harm him as it had been designed to assist him. "But I have to be careful." He thought.

Looking at the body of the beasts one more time, he continued his journey, heading deeper into the abyss in search of the layer boss.
