Capítulo 49: Broken Man!

In the dimly lit interrogation chamber within the AEGIS Prison, Kayn stood silently in the cold, sterile interrogation chamber, his eyes fixed on Silas, who was chained to the metal chair across from him.

The room was bare, with only a single light hanging above them, casting harsh shadows on the walls. Silence filled the room except for the faint him of fluorescent lights overhead, and the breathing of the two.

Silas's defiant gaze met Kayn's, though his body showed the toll of the recent battle, bruised and battered, yet his spirit remained unbroken. Kayn naturally had the opportunity to heal Silas, but chose not to, not yet at least.

He needed to squeeze Silas of every bit of value that he was worth before he healing him.

"You better start talking," Kayn said coldly, his voice devoid of any emotion.,"Tell me everything about ORION, and maybe I'll let you keep your mind intact."

Silas chuckled darkly, shaking his head, "You think I'm scared of you? I'll never betray ORION. Do your worst."

Kayn crossed his arms, leaning against the table between them. "Silas, you know why we're here. ORION has been a menace for too long, and your capture is a key piece in dismantling them. You can save yourself a lot of pain by cooperating."

Silas smirked, his lip curling in disdain. "You think capturing me changes anything? ORION isn't some gang you can take down with a few punches. We're everywhere, in every corner of this planet, in places you'd never even think to look. Taking me out? You've barely scratched the surface."

Kayn raised an eyebrow, his expression calm,"You're overestimating yourself. ORION might have reach, but it's not invincible. We've already taken down your soldiers, and now, with you in custody, we can dismantle the rest of the organization. But you can make this easier on yourself by telling me what I need to know."

Silas laughed, a harsh sound that echoed in the empty room as he heard Kayn's words.

"Easier on myself? You have no idea what you're up against. I've been in situations far worse than this, and I've come out stronger every time. Torture, threats, mind games. none of it will break me." Silas said, his eyes burning in defiance and mockery as he looked towards Kayn.

"ORION has prepared me for this moment. What you don't realize is that no matter what you do to me, ORION will thrive. We've always been one step ahead of you so-called heroes. Because you heroes never do what it takes to truly defeat us." Silas said.

Kayn's eyes narrowed slightly, though his demeanor remained composed, "You're proud of what you've done, aren't you? Proud of the lives you've destroyed, the chaos you've spread. You think ORION's cause justifies all of that?"

Silas's eyes flashed with a dangerous light. "Pride has nothing to do with it. ORION is about power, about reshaping the world into what it should be. This planet is weak, full of pathetic beings who don't understand the true nature of strength. We're here to change that, to bring order through power, our power. You and your little band of heroes are clinging to ideals that have no place in the world we're creating."

Kayn shook his head slowly, his voice taking on a colder edge after he listened to Silas' words, "And that's where you're wrong. Your vision of power isn't strength, it's fear. It's built on the suffering of others, on domination and control. You're not reshaping the world; you're destroying it. And that's why you'll fail."

Silas leaned forward as much as his restraints would allow, his expression twisted with contempt, "You think your righteousness will save you? That your so-called justice will prevail? The world is changing, Harbinger, whether you like it or not. ORION is the future. We've planted our roots deep, and we'll tear down everything in our path. You're just another obstacle, one that we'll crush just like the others."

Silas said, taking a couple deep breaths and leaning back in his chair, confident he had "won" the discussion between himself and Kayn, a smirk on his face.

Kayn uncrossed his arms and took a step closer to Silas, his voice steady but carrying a weight of authority, "You're underestimating us, Silas. Underestimating me. You've already lost, you just don't know it yet."

Silas glared at him, his fists clenching against the armrests of the chair,"You talk like you're invincible, but you're just another arrogant fool who thinks he can change the world by playing the hero. ORION's power is beyond anything you can imagine, and when we rise, you'll be the first to fall."

Kayn sighed, a hint of disappointment in his tone, "I was hoping you'd see reason, that you'd realize that this path only leads to your downfall. But it seems you're too far gone to understand that. Your loyalty to ORION is going to cost you everything."

Silas sneered, his voice dripping with venom, "Loyalty? You think this is about loyalty? You so called heroes are all the same, weak and ignorant of the world, unable to do what needs to be done, to kill and stomp out all criminals, but we'll take over and whip this planet into shape. ORION is Earth's destiny, my destiny, my purpose. I'd rather die than betray what we stand for. You'll get nothing from me, no matter what you do."

Kayn's gaze hardened, a cold resolve settling over him, "Then you've made your choice."

Kayn's expression shifted from cold resolve to something more menacing, a glint of power flickering in his eyes as he stepped closer to Silas.

The air around them grew heavier, charged with an energy that made the room feel smaller, more oppressive. Silas could feel the shift, his instincts screaming at him that something terrible was about to happen.

"You had your chance, Silas," Kayn said, his voice low and dangerous, as his eyes began glowing a psychic light, "Now, we do this my way."

With a sigh and before Silas could even react, Kayn's hand shot out like a flash, roughly grasping Silas by the forehead with an iron grip. Silas struggled against the hold, but it was if Kayn's hand was rooted to his head, unyielding and immovable.

Immediately, a surge of energy pulsed through Kayn's hand and into Silas's mind. Silas's eyes widened in terror as Kayn forcefully delved into his thoughts, tearing through his mental defenses like paper.

"What—what are you doing?" Silas gasped, his eyes widening as he felt an unfamiliar and terrifying pressure begin to build inside his mind.

Kayn didn't answer. His eyes glowed with a faint, eerie light as he began to channel his energy into Silas's mind. The connection was forceful, invasive, nothing like the subtle probing that Silas might have expected from a telepath.

This was a direct assault, a brutal tearing away of every mental barrier Silas had painstakingly constructed over the years.

Silas screamed, a horrific sound of pain, despair and devastation, his voice raw and filled with all of his negative emotions, the horrific sound echoing throughout the chamber as Kayn's energy tore through his mind.

It felt like a thousand blades slicing through his thoughts, each one sharper and more relentless than the last. The pain was unbearable, as if his very soul was being ripped apart, sliced to pieces.

Memories flashed before his eyes, vivid and chaotic, as Kayn rifled through them with ruthless efficiency. Silas tried to resist, tried to push Kayn out, but it was like trying to hold back a tidal wave with his bare hands.

Every ounce of strength he summoned was crushed beneath the overwhelming force of Kayn's will. Kayn's expression remained indifferent as he extracted every piece of information he needed.

"Stop… please… STOP!" Silas begged, his voice cracking as the agony intensified. Although he was proud before, no-one could've expected this, especially from a so called Superhero.

He could feel his mind splintering, his sanity fraying at the edges as Kayn dug deeper, searching for every secret, every piece of information Silas had ever guarded.

But Kayn showed no mercy. He pushed harder, the pressure in Silas's skull becoming unbearable. It felt as though his brain was being ripped apart, each synapse burning under the relentless assault.

The pain was excruciating, unlike anything Silas had ever experienced. He had endured torture before, but this, this was something else entirely. It was a violation, a complete destruction of his mental defenses.

Kayn's voice echoed in Silas's mind, cold and detached, "You brought this on yourself, Silas. All you had to do was talk. Now, I'll take what I need by force."

Silas's thoughts began to blur, the pain overwhelming his ability to think coherently. He could feel memories being ripped from him, his deepest secrets laid bare.

His connection to ORION, the identities of other operatives, hidden bases, plans, it all poured out of him, unwillingly given up under the unbearable pressure.

And still, Kayn continued, his grip on Silas's mind tightening further, crushing any remaining resistance. Silas's screams grew weaker, his voice hoarse and broken, as his mind was pushed to the brink of collapse.

Finally, when it seemed that Silas could endure no more, Kayn's grip released. Silas slumped in the chair, his body trembling uncontrollably, his breath ragged and shallow.

His eyes that were once defiant and mocking were now vacant, the once-defiant spark completely extinguished.

His mind, once sharp and cunning, was now a shattered, empty shell. The pain lingered, echoing through the remnants of his consciousness, but there was nothing left to resist with. Kayn had taken everything.

The man who had once been Silas was now nothing more than a husk, his mind shattered beyond repair. Kayn turned away, his task complete, and walked out of the room, leaving the broken man behind.

However, Kayn couldn't help but leave one last phrase to Silas, "You said Superheroes don't have what it takes to crush criminals and stomp out crime, to make the tough decisions,

Well thank god I'm not a normal Superhero!"
