Father's eyes opened wide to my words as he stared bewildered. He stood in disbelief.

"What did you say?" He asked, taking steps forward, anger flickering on his orbs and something else I couldn't quite place.

I knew he wouldn't take it well, but it was about time I faced him and put my feelings first before anything else. Aiden was my mate and nothing could change that.

"I won't Reject him, father".

I told him regardless of what he thought. Maybe if I could get him to understand that this was out of my control, then he will know where I was coming from. Now, it was time to speak my truth.

The truth he didn't want to hear.

"Aiden is my mate, father". I told him

The room became even more silent as father blinked, his eyes opening wider than before as my words bored deeper and deeper into his head.
