Doom darted her eyes from the shapeshifter, who had charged, ready to attack Kael, to Stillwort, who was worried, looking at Julia. It wasn't that they were outnumbered; the demoness didn't like that Kael had outsmarted her. It was a blow to her fragile ego.

"I must have underestimated you, Kael. I thought being in love would make you more human," Avyssa chuckled, standing properly on her feet. She twitched her lips. "But it's not about stopping the ritual..." Her red eyes glowed as she scanned the place, mirth dancing in her eyes.

"Are you willing to sacrifice the lives of everyone standing here just to stop me? You might be sly, but you have something to protect but I don't." Doom pushed the candles out of the circle carefully.

Kael's gaze remained fixed on the circle, then shifted to the demoness's face. He took a step closer to the circle and followed Doom's actions.
